Well, this pretty much assures an SEC team is going to have an undefeated regular season.

Using "or" statements means you really are in the same boat I am. Just looking at the end record, 3 losses seems realistic but it hard to pin down exactly which 3 you think we would lose.

For example, by saying "Carolina or Florida" you are saying we could lose to both of those teams since they are independent. Following that logic train means you think it is realistic we lose 5 games.

should have improved play from every position other than DE.

I don't think we'll see any drop off at DE. If anything, I think we see an improvement.

This position underachieved last year.

2014 Record/ Returning on Offense/ Returning on Defense
Bama.......... 11-1....4....8
State.......... 10-2....4....3
LSU.............. 8-4....8....8
S Carolina.... 7-5....5....8
Florida......... 7-5....7....6
A&M............ 7-5....7....6

Miles is 4-0 against A&M, 3-0 against Carolina, 6-4 against Florida (4 of last 5), and 9-1 against State.

Why do you look at the schedule and see these as games as losses?

I would be absolutely shocked if we lost more than two of those, and bordering on shocked at anyone besides Bama.

South Carolina, Florida, and State are all worse teams than they were last year. aTm I could see maybe getting a win this year.

Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if LSU is the underdog at MSU. And depending how the season plays out, may be at Ole Miss as well.

Moo State lost a lot from last year's team, so I think they are going to slide back. I think that will be a close game, but believe we'll find a way to pull that one out.

Ole Miss is surely plausible, but I believe being that late in the year will allow our younger players to have gelled by then.

We'll almost certainly boost our sack production, but that doesn't necessarily equate to improved play.

Danielle Hunter 73 tkl, 30 solo, 13 TFL, 6 PBU
Jermauria Rasco 71 tkl,24 solo, 7.5 TFL, 1 PBU

These guys were very very impressive within the scheme we played.

This is why I say 9-3 or 10-2. But until I see the first 3 games it is almost impossible to say. Even then it will be difficult to determine. Our SEC West schedule is brutal and I'm assuming LSU wins the four OOC games. Several teams will be better or worse than expectations in the SEC. I think LSU could be an improved team and have the same record, but I do think LSU will a better team than last years. Also most on here just think that State, TAM, UF and SC are givens and they may turn out that way, but I'm guessing at least two of them exceed expectations. Perhaps the Hogs cannot win a close game as they have shown under Bert, maybe the new QBs at OM,Bama, and Auburn lay eggs as we did last year. My guess is at least three of them are very good teams. I like the Tigers staff especially in recruiting now, but injuries to the front 7 and even in the rotation is scary and that is assuming the Tigers have improved QB play.

The notion that a team that an 8 win team (that was a heartbeat away from 10 wins) which will be better at pretty much every positions would be .500 on the season is patently absurd.

True. We really weren't that far off.

Not really. We "could" lose 7 games if you look at each individually. I just think we lost one of those games.

To be honest LSU was two very close games from being 6-6 last year.. It works both ways when stating this......... But I am sure they have improved... 10-2 is the highest I would go as far as a prediction.......

How do we return 8 on D? We lost Kwon, Hunter, Rasco, and Collins. That's 4 starters gone. 11 - 4 = 7

And im including Jamal Adams as a returning starter as well.

So state got over the hump. And Florida will be much better this year. That's all.
