I have a female GSD and she is by far the smartest dog I have owned which can be a good thing and a bad thing. Just so you know they shed once a year for 365 days. They have a double coat which will need to groomed at least twice a week. Mine was hyper and anxious until she hit about two years old and now she can run all day or be a couch potato depending on what we have going on. She only barks when there is something to bark about. I would highly recommend a GSD if you feel comfortable training and leading a dog because if you are not, the GSD will take the leader role. She is great with my 3 month old and shadows him every where we take him. Socialize whatever breed you get from puppy hood and you should not have a problem. If buying from a breeder, get a family history of hip dysplasia and try to find out the temperament of the sire and dam. Also understand that a GSD bred for show will probably have back issues later in life due to the sloped back that is desired for dog shows.

You'ld let ppl make u sterotype an animal?! I bet few to none of them are true bullies. All this shite that goes one in the backyards of hoods and trailer parks... Forget that! Those are either american pits or pit mixes. I cant stand eaither. Bullies are supperier. I guarantee that if you found my baby you would hall arse back to you place with her. ...i'ld find you in an hour but thats besides the point.

Friends that we have that are runners own a Weimaraner. Very cool dog - smart, athletic. If you are active, it's perfect.

I'd probably call the cops to put her down before she tries to kill someone's child.

That mother fricker will chew through the sheet rock and start gnawing on the studs. I've never experienced a more destructive breed than the weimaraner.

Yep. The MAJORITY of dog owners that complain about destructive dogs need to understand this. Some breeds are very intelligent and have a lot of energy. They get bored like any child would.

Dalmation - became very popular after the movie but then everyone found out they can have some serious aggression problems. They're pretty uncommon so in some cases inbreeding can be an issue.

GSD - Very loyal and good family dog but a poor choice if you aren't going to be an alpha owner and have very thorough, dedicated training. An obedient GSD is great, a poorly behaved one is a total disaster. Also extremely important to do an absurd amount of research into the breeders you buy from since there are so many bad GSD breeders out there that have no problem selling dogs with poor health.

Weim - Overall good dogs but can be a little neurotic and destructive if it doesn't have enough mental stimulation and exercise.

Rottie - again requires you to be dedicated to training but can be very friendly, loyal, and good family dog if properly socialized. Also a breed that needs very thorough check up on the breeders.

--- All dogs require good training and socialization but the rottie and GSD can be especially difficult if these aren't done correctly. That's my .02
