What makes LSU fans the most intense in CFB?

Our reputation is well deserved, but what is the reason that we, as collective Tigers, are so damn passionate?
Is it the booze?
The heritage?
Because we have parishes and all these other pretenders have "counties"?
Why can we do it so much better than the rest? Better cooks overall? Ingrained Party culture? Or just "the want"?
What's your reasoning?

I don't think we are the most intense. Besides, that's hard to define. We love our Tigers for sure, but wouldn't you call fanaticism that leans almost towards religiosity in BAMA fans...intense? Or those wackos up in Happy Valley? Lots of fans are intense.
However, I think we do all of it the best...from the pageantry, to the unique traditions, to the colors, the food, the passionate fans, Mike the Tiger, Tiger Band, etc.
When you put it all together, we stand apart. And given our culture down here already stands out, for outsiders the experience becomes otherworldly when they are simply a third party and not the focus of that Saturday's game.

Yeah, bama fans are the most intense. Those f-ers will poison your trees, rub their nuts on you, & shoot you for not being upset enough when they lose.

agreed....and I'll add, I think what made us the best back in the day was wanting to be relevant on a national scene so badly. not all games were televised so when ESPN or CBS came to town, it was HUUUUGE....now its just par for the course.
and another opinion of mine, we in the south tend to have a stick-together-ness to outsiders because we're looked at as being assbackwards to other regions, so LSU football was a place we all came together and made it great.....but this can also be said of other states in the south, Louisiana is a little different.

Because we live for this! This is life in Louisiana, it is our heritage, and it goes back all the way to the civil war...

certainly a lot of it is the culture and food, but I think a big part was the night games. Gave our fans all day to tailgate and get ready. Brought a lot more energy to the stadium at night.

It's all about the whiskey and hot sauce

Our Cajun French Spanish heritidge makes us passionate in every thing , its the red neck influx that is killing us politically right now !

Only one national stage college football team in the state.
Night games allow time for travel and partying.
The passionate culture and heritage of the people.
Lack of other culture and social events. For many LSU football was THE social event of the year, and for many that continues today.

Whats the signature dish of Ohio, Alabama, Pennsylvania? No clue
Whats the signature dish of Louisiana- Too many to count. We have a unique culture in the hodgepodge blandness that is the USA. We stick out as a people; therefore, we bring that to the college football scene.

LSU fans actually know football. How many other fan bases know who their D-line coach is yet along get excited about him. Louisiana is all about family, faith, food and football point blank. Everything revolves around that point blank

Leave their kid in the car and sext while at work and, well you what happened.
Drive 500 miles to movie theatre in another state and...well you know what happened.

In Louisiana??? There is plenty events to do here..............
LSU fans have a passion that is umatched... Michigan State is the only one close... Bama fans are devoted but lack reality.............
It IS a shame that a lot of people leave at the half though....
