Texas fans. Making a trip to Austin for Rice game. What to do and must sees

Let me know some great places to eat and hangout in Austin. I'll be there Thursday night Friday Sat Sun leaving Monday. I'm 24 and gonna be going with 2 or 3 other friends.

6th street is obviously the famous area for bars but I much prefer Rainey street. Great choice of bars, little more laid back of an atmosphere, not nearly as touristy and trashy as some would say
If you've been to Nola I'd say it could be compared like:
Bourbon = 6th St
Frenchmen/Uptown = Rainey St

Yeah, Rainey is cool too. More of a hipster scene though.
And if you're not down with the college party crowd, hang out on W 6th for more upscale type bars and restaurants

That should be a good game.
Rainey street, South congress (continental club) then bloody Mary's and green chile cheeseburger at Shady Grove on Sunday.
Rainey street is more frat / yuppie than hipster at least last time I was there. Home of the 10 minute "hand crafted" overrated $18 cocktail... But scenery is nice.

Hipsters have mostly moved on to East 6th (E of I-35). Rainey is great but crowded, and there are plenty of fratty college types there. Dirty 6th (just W of 35) is the "famous" 6th street, but while there are dozens of bars and lots of great live music, the crowd there is the youngest and most out of control of the downtown districts. Definitely the most urban as well.
(Far) West 6th is a bit more upscale in appearance but again, plenty of your fratty/preppy types, just a bit older. Talent wise, strong to quite strong.
All these areas are short walks or very short uber rides from one another so no reason you can't see most of them.
Sunday Funday is widely celebrated here, so if you don't make it at night head to Rainey or West 6th for that. I'd recommend Icenhauer's.
A heads-up, although it's the home opener, the game experience against Rice will largely be a snoozefest. Maybe a bit better if we pull the upset at ND.
Magnolia Cafe, Matt's El Rancho, La Barbecue, Gus' Fried Chicken, to name a few.
Hit up Barton Springs (I'd recommend Friday to avoid weekend crowds), or do some paddle boarding or kayaking at the lake, Butler Park Pitch and Putt golf course is a fun couple of hours.

During the day on Fri or Sun, may want to rent a kayak, couple of different places around the Colorado River that will rent em to you for cheap. Some cool breweries as well. For food, check out Home Slice pizza or Torchy's Tacos. Good barbeque around there as well.

Bring a case of beer and folding chairs to Franklin bbq on Monday morning before you leave. Set up shop about 6 am and you should have food by 11. It's worth it.
Silo on 7th is pretty good for food and beer after the game before you hit up 6th street. Tons of craft beers and try the fried green tomatillos or the silo fries.
