Is Amazon Prime membership worth buying?

Somehow I accidentally signed up for Amazon Prime. It must have happened awhile back when I was looking into getting some Amazon credit card. Anyhow, I'm stuck with a Prime account for a year. How do you get your money's worth out of this? The only feature that looks like I would utilize is the 2 day shipping. Is there something else that I'm missing here? I see little value in this.

Most everything I buy online is cheaper on amazon, plus no tax and free shipping. Not a bad deal IMO. Prime movies kinda suck though.

The other day I needed a control for a dip fryer. Restaurant said they would pay me $250 extra if I could come the next day with it. Amazon prime had it. That paid for my prime for a year. Normally I pay $60 top have something rush shipped, here it's $4.

I accidentally signed up before as well. Called them and explained what happened and they gave me a full refund.

I did the same thing.. I figured it was a decent way to spend $100/yr. Now when I think about family members gifts, etc... I start at amazon and ship directly. It seems to be a convenient way to get items pretty quickly.
Also, the "netflix" service/aspect isn't too bad... and it's also cheaper...

It's $100. I get 10x that out of it every year.

Yeah the free 2 day shipping is awesome, but when I looked over my Amazon activity from the previous year I really only ordered books and a few other random things whenever I happen to need something that can't be easily found locally.
The video thing does look like something I could use but I really don't watch a whole lot of entertainment programming.

You will find yourself using it for many more things now. Before you buy something from another site, make sure its not on Amazon first.
Also, if its something you don't need quickly, you can choose no-rush shipment that is still free and you get some type of credit to your account. For a while it was $2 off e-books or movies but lately its been $5 credit for Prime Pantry or Outdoors or something like that. You could easily get $100 worth of credit just from doing that throughout the year.

When you think you need to buy something, check Amazon first and check their prices... often, they're cheaper than regular retail.
I don't use the VOD often, but I figure it's there and if I'm bored enough, I'll check it out... but I'm probably more biased to Netflix.

I thought the music thing was just free listening. Is there free downloading as well?
