Favirite game series of all time. Have done no death runs on both dark and dark 2. Demons kicks my arse too much
But why the lack of hype??
Such an awesome experience and atmosphere.

One of the few titles I am genuinely excited about on the horizon.
Fromsoft runs the risk of putting out too many titles with the souls formula, but I'm still buying them so I guess they win out in the end.

It's funny how people act like DS2 was garbage when in reality it was a great game IMO. It just wasn't quite on the level of the original DS
If you still have a 360 laying around I may need a hand on some DLC for DS1 one of these days....

My first ever souls experience was Bloodborne, then I got DS2: Scholar of the First Sin on ps4..
I'm hyped for DS3, it looks to have a good bit of BB influence in it.

Only games I get genuinely excited about.

As long so can get an OP build going, I will enjoy these games

I just can't get into them. I'm trying again at dark souls 2 and the melee just feels clumsy. I beat bloodborne and I was feeling rather confident but the combat doesn't feel good.

The man, the legend. It's training wheels, himself. In the flesh!

Sounds like you want it faster. Ds3 looks a little quicker.

I'm just excited to find out what the main character does to frick over the world so bad that the cycle stops

from what little bit of footage I've seen, which isn't much. seems like the cycles are getting progressively worse.
The screencaps I saw showed off plenty of dilapidated architecture/environments, even by dark souls standards.
Maybe this is the cycle to end all cycles.

I don't even know of what a cycle is

fire is lit.
things are okay for a while.
fire starts to fade.
shite gets fricked up.
a new person comes forth to light the fire if he or she so chooses.

I assume that is part of the lore you discover playing the games?

Starting a new game of DS and running straight for the great scythe in the catacombs

a gross oversimplification on my part, but yes. reading item descriptions, talking with NPCS, and watching youtube videos of folks who care enough to read the fine print all help.
My level of investment in heavy handed storytelling from videogames has diminished a whole hell of a lot, so I almost prefer this method of storytelling at this point. It's there if you want it, but you don't have to suffer through mindless exposition and cutscenes.

That's how bloodborne is and I loved it. I'm tired of every game trying to be 'cinematic'

Can I be lazy and skip DS1 and play DS2? Also, I read something about getting help in tougher areas via some multiplayer system. Is that necessary?
