What is the best way to get from bham to Nashville if you did not want to fly or use a rental car.????

Need to get from bham to Nashville in September. Don't want to get a rental car and pay drop rate at Nashville airport and the flights are pretty expensive.

Any locals ideas?

I guess there is an Amtrak line but that would be waaay more expensive than a rental car. For frick's sake man, it's only 3 hours on I-65.

Drive the car you own. Greyhound.

Find a code with a one-way drop allowed.

Besides Greyhound, I don't know. Megabus isn't an option and Amtrak doesn't go through Nashville.

But yeah, what's wrong with your own car?

Why can't you either drive or fly and what are the constraints to you travel?

Mrs. Lordguill just informed me that round trip Greyhound tickets from Birmingham to Nashville are around $75 dollars right now. That's your best option if you're trying to save money.

Why not drive your own car? If you're just trying to save money on parking then park at a walmart and then uber to the airport.

Dude, Ill drive you there and back for $150.

Plus meals, hooker, blow, and lodging.

Seriously, just rent the car or drive your own car. There is no point in flying or taking the train. After time spent in Terminals you can drive there and half way back. I normally make it in 2.5 hours.

Check out flyer talk and find some one way rental codes. I know you can find something fairly inexpensive.

i am flying form Houston to Bham for the ole miss game. I have family in Nashville that I thought I could squeeze in and see them on the last half of the trip. hence the need to get a one way trip to Nashville.

There are options for less than $75. I don't see what the issue is.

Drive your own car... It's not a bad drive at all.

As others have pointed out, this is a 3 hour car trip. This is far too short to fly commercially. I guess you could probably hop a Greyhound if you have plenty of time and little cash but if the money matters that much you might do better posting on craigslist hoping for a ride.

Greyhound one way costs about $60, fwiw. If this is more than beer money for you I respectfully suggest you not make the trip.

Thanks everyone!

Was mostly hoping there would be some kind of mega bus or small charter. I will probably just look for a low car rental drop rate.

Just go up 65. It's an incredibly simple drive, and if you need a pit stop, go to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. It's the best museum in the United States. You can see 2 actual Saturn V rockets. It's the tits.

But it takes less than 3 hours to get there. This is the most pointless driving thread ever.
