i am not familiar with crossfit, never been to a crossfit gym or seen it done. Just heard the rave about it. It was just always too expensive for my taste. I work out 5 days a week and in decent shape. But having snapchat, i now have seen some of these crossfit exercises because the crossfit games is on my feed and i have been watching it. So that brings me to this.... some/most of the stuff they are doing looks dangerous as hell! And it looks like it would do more harm than good to the body in the long run. Are people not getting injured on a regular basis doing some of this ridiculous stuff i see them doing on this snapchat feed?

Interesting question. I've never seen this asked before. I can't wait to hear the OT's take on this subject.

Examples would be nice.

I don't know much about it either. I will say the ridiculously high hurdle competition they had looked absurd and dangerous. The video said it was a Crossfit competition, so if it's not then my bad.

Don't you know the OTs policy on crossfit?

The only thing worse than a fatty is someone that goes about not being a fatty in a manner that does not befit the OT.

I've known 4 people who have gotten into Crossfit. All 4 of them couldn't workout at all within 6 months due to knee or back injury.

Crossfit, like any other work phenomenon, comes with good groups and bad groups. The ones I noticed that are good generally don't use weights much. They concentrate more on Calisthenic type stuff. (ie Burpees, Actual pull ups, wall push ups, jump ropes and lunges)

Then you have the Jack@sses that try and imagine the next cool thing and the instructors themselves know nothing about proper form.

<-- not a cross fitter
