You could laugh at him and call him a hypocrite, but he's starting to poke the bee hive, wanting to ruffle feathers of other Coaches. This is his schtick.

Im sure City would be much higher if they didn't have those restrictions last summer. Probably a stronger squad that could have defended its crown.

This is a year old but still pretty telling:
And I also found this on Reddit:
quote:

1 - Manchester City €628.25M : 5 trophies - Premier League (2 times), FA Cup, Community Shield, League Cup
2 - Chelsea €609.85M : 5 trophies - Premier League, Champions league, Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup
3 - Manchester United €534.86M : 4 trophies - Premier League (2 times), 2 Community Shields
4 - Real Madrid €522.5M : 7 trophies - La Liga, Champions league, 2 CDRs, Supercopa de Espana, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club WC

Really my point was that every club is spending obscene amounts of money now and bar something completely ridiculous happening (Swansea winning the league or something), pretty much any team that has a real shot of winning the league will have bought the title to an extent.

Pellegrini hot damn
whats also a crazy stat is City have raked in a good amount on selling list of nobody's the last 5 years.
I guess it can be attributed to their high turn over of players maybe making it two years.

What cracks me up is the Arsenal board saying they have a 200 million pounds transfer kitty this summer. Well dammit use it

Heres what I saw on Transfer League. While yes, Chelsea have spent the most last 5 years they also have brought in more from transfers than any other PL club.
Also, Chelsea have a net of -3.45m pounds this window. Heavy spenders this year.

fricking PSG
Thats insane they have brought in more than Liverpool. But it just shows you how fricking good their scouting and loan system is. Bringing in all those players then turning a profit for them after multiple loans

Assuming United sell DiMaria which who knows what happens that will bring out net this year to about 15million

It seems like Luis is headed back to Madrid so depending on his replacement cost that number could improve as well.

Marina Granovskaia and Michael Emenalo both deserve statues outside Stamford Bridge.

He's right. Chelsea's net spending on transfers over the past three years is well below Manchester United and Manchester City. Heck, their net spending on transfers is actually below Liverpool and barely ahead of Arsenal. So I don't see how Chelsea is trying to "buy the title" liver Manchester United and Manchester City have been doing over the past three years.

I wish we would buy something. It's unbelievable that a club like Chelsea and we have to have 3 of our back 4 play all 90 min. in a pre season exhibition because we don't even have any other defenders on the entire freaking squad.
Equally as pitiful 2 of our 3 attacking mids are Oscar and Willian.
BUYYYYYYYYYYYY SOMEBODY!!!!!!!

I like Mourinho, but I think this is more sour grapes than one of his more calculated quips at other managers. Chelsea is pretty much all in on the Pogba sweepstakes, it seems. And from the sound of it, things aren't going so well...

The quote is more than a little misleading; click bait demands it but to me the important quote is this one:
"So as people told many, many times in the beginning of Mr. Abramovich coming to Chelsea, ‘Chelsea was buying the title,’ now they are buying the title. All of them they are buying the title, and it’s up to us to be strong and to fight them and obviously try to win it again, even without the big investments."
With this quote he pretty much punctures any hypocritical barb thrown his way.
