re: Spurs. Are you ready?

I'm a Chelsea fan and love that man. Still love him despite him chasing off Costa and the ugly ending. He will make the Spurs better and will do a tremendous job.

But, no matter what he says about working with what the club has and developing young players, he will want specific transfers and when he doesn't get them he will lose it.

He will have a short, successful and very intense time as Spurs manager. It'll be like that one crazy girl you knew during that summer that you like to think about but are glad she doesn't know where you live now.
I'm old enough to remember Jim "Doc" Kovach who graduated pre-med before joining the Saints and completed his training while playing.

Good luck to this kid, hope it all works out for him.

What I'm hoping is he clearly prioritized the league over the cup and started a lesser team than will be on the field on Tuesday.

I'm hoping that's the case.

A fun game to watch, but man I'd love to get that two goal lead once, please. I do like the fact that Frank manages more like Fergie than Jose.

Protecting a one goal lead with a few minutes to go? Better throw on an ultra fast winger!

I know there are no "moral victories" but damn that was a hell of a performance at the Etihad. After watching every second of the massacre of last year I'll take it. Also a plus, even if we couldn't get the win at least we got revenge for Aguero fricking up Luiz's knee a few years back so that makes me happy.

Love the lineup with Emerson and Reese at fullback. Could be a 5-2 win for the Chels. #KTBFFH
I think Saints fans view him as a hell of a quarterback who was stuck on crappy teams.

I remember he hosted a call in show on WWL with Cooper for a short time and people spent so much time gushing over Archie Cooper had to say on air, "When you call in please don't spend 5 minutes telling my Dad how great he was. He appreciates it but it takes up so much time that we need." The very next caller spent 5 minutes telling Archie how great he was and how bad he felt that we couldn't put a decent team around him.

I got to meet him and he was the nicest most genuine person I've ever met. I saw him a few minutes later and though I expected him to pretend he didn't see me he stopped, shook my hand and said, "Merry Christmas, Jebboy."

There is no doubt Drew Brees is a better quarterback but Archie will always be my favorite.
American fans didn't like it and if your team goes to London chances are you don't like it either.

It's a weird decision, I understand wanting to expand your fan base but that is going to be very hard for teams. A seven hour time difference is big.

It'll be cool to go see a game though.
He's a pretty good coach, there is no shame in losing to Brazil. I like that he is willing to change tactics to take advantage of opponent's weaknesses and to offset their strengths as well.

I don't like the fact that he lost his nerve a bit during the Cup and didn't change tactics when he should have.

I also hate the fact that he played Marquez because:

1) frick Rafa Marquez
2) He's about 70 years old and barely made it to halftime.

If he can take this Mexico experience and learn from it I think he would be an excellent choice. If he doesn't or can't learn we'd be better served by looking for someone else.

Chelsea starting lineup (4-4-2/4-2-4):
Asmir Begovic | Ola Aina, Papy Djilobodji, John Terry (c), Branislav Ivanovic | Victor Moses, Oscar, Nemanja Matic, Willian | Diego Costa, Bertrand Traore

Papy starts again? Branislav at RB again?

le sigh.

At least Aina and Traore get starts.

Not sure if everyone's aware of this but today's game will be shown on ESPN3 so you won't have to go the illegal stream route.

Read some articles on how impressed Conte is with RLC so it sounds like the kid is putting in work during practice. Hope it shows today, I'd like to see he and Chalobah play together for a bit but that's a pipe dream I'm sure.

I watched the whole game, lucky me.

It was ugly and disjointed but we've only been in "camp" for a few days and it was our first friendly of the season. Rapid was playing their seventh and that certainly showed.

If you watched the game and weren't impressed with Moses I'd have to ask why. He was a force up the left. Willian was full of running but didn't accomplish a ton.

Our first half midfielders were Matic and Mikel. They can both do a job but that job isn't creating chances. I was very unimpressed with the defense overall. I'd be a happy man if Ivanovic never plus fullback again.

Second half subs were fun and I thought Chalobah was as good as Loftus Cheek was bad in the first half. So that's probably a wash overall. Plus, if I'm Miazga I have to wonder about my future if I can't get on the field ahead of Papy.

Overall it would have been nice to win but no panic yet.

Japan as a nation has gone all in for soccer. They have put a tremendous amount of effort and money into development. They aren't Brazil but a win against them isn't bad at all.
Fallout 4:

Snipe guy in head, take 20% of life away he wanders around but can't see me. Mutters something about hearing things and sits down on the same bench.

Repeat 4 times and he's dead. Each time wanders, mutters and sits on same bench.
The quote is more than a little misleading; click bait demands it but to me the important quote is this one:

"So as people told many, many times in the beginning of Mr. Abramovich coming to Chelsea, ‘Chelsea was buying the title,’ now they are buying the title. All of them they are buying the title, and it’s up to us to be strong and to fight them and obviously try to win it again, even without the big investments."

With this quote he pretty much punctures any hypocritical barb thrown his way.

I rate Schurrle a lot more than Salah but if we get a good fee it might make sense to move him. Jose is a fickle sort and Schurrle just isn't seeing the field.

I'm not sure why he fell so far so fast but he has. Move him, bring in someone else and drive on.

We'll be in for top players in Jan or the summer and we'll have money in the "bank". Plus it'll give Jose more ammunition for his FFP rants against City, PSG et al.
I'm a Chelsea fan so I love the Bison, but he is done. I wouldn't give him a DP slot.

On top of the fact he's potentially a great player he was also homegrown which helps tremendously for EPL and Champions League spots.

Bamford, Brown and Solanke are going to be good players but none of them have Lukaku's physical attributes.

I agree, I don't really get it either.

I know he's still a bit raw but he's got a lot of potential and he idolized Drogba. Let him play behind Drogba for a year and then make Didier striker coach and turn the kid into something great.

Costa better damn well come good. I like him and I believe in him but if he doesn't bag 20 goals moves like this don't make any sense.
