Under 40 Grandmas...Anyone out there know any women like this?

So, I found out a business acquaintance of mine is a grandmother.
She's relatively attractive and 38 years old. I knew she had a daughter, but today when I called her about getting a copy of a contract I heard a baby crying in the background.
I made a comment about it and she said, "oh I'm watching my granddaughter."
I was speechless.I'm 34 and don't even have kids. She's on generation two.
The whole concept was so alien my brain went into shutdown mode.
I got off the phone still amazed that a fairly successful woman was a grandma in her 30s.
Then I thought of my grandmother. She was a 40 year old grandmother when my older sister was born.
Amazing how much things have changed.
Anyone out there know any women like this?
And is therea real stigma?or is it just me?

I think Loretta Lynn was a grandmother at 29.
But to your question, it's absolutely more acceptable today. Nothing is "wrong" or to be stigmatized.
Jenner gets an ESPY for it

The old folks used to say-
"The first one can come anytime, all the rest take nine months."

I know. Crazy how only about a hundred years ago women were having babies at 16 or 17.

That's incorrect. Quite a few are other minorities.

Had my first kid at 21. If I'm a grandfather before I'm 40 then something has gone awry with her.
She's a good kid (16 now) with goals in life so I'm fairly certain I'll be alright.
Now some of her classmates...

It only takes 1 young guy to corrupt her life. I'm glad I have boys

During my time teaching in ebr (middle and high school), I have had multiple 13-16 year old students who had children. Many of their parents were in their early to mid 30s. It is quite sad yet normal in our area.
I had one male student who was 15(3 years ago) and had 3 kids by 3 different teenage mothers. I thought he was lying, but his mother brought it up in a meeting.
My daughter goes to school in LP. It is not as bad, but last year she had classes with 6 different pregnant sophomores and juniors.
So to answer your question, I have met many women who fit your business acquaintance's description. Some of them are successful; many live off of our taxes.
Parents, talk to your kids before they have their own! If you had a kid in high school (or middle school), explicitly explain your struggles! Break the cycle.
