So the 41-year-old mother of two, who has a doctorate in fashion merchandising, started her own business called Svaha (which is how her daughter's name is pronounced) to sell clothes that upend gender stereotypes.

At major retail outlets such as Children's Place and Gymboree, there are few, if any, options for the girl who loves dinosaurs or football. Same goes for the boy who loves unicorns and hearts..

neutral colors have always existed...

and I like it

my daughter likes purple but she also likes dinosaurs, so now I could buy her a purple shirt with dinosaurs on it

sounds good to me

Haven't we always had gender neutral kids clothes? A solid yellow, green, or red shirt is about as neutral as you can get.

A) How do you pronounce it?

B) Who would name her kid Svaha?

My son loves Monsters Inc, Pluto, horses, and race cars.

What are his options?

All of those just look like regular ol' kids clothes. Absolute shame that some company is going to shell out cash to this bitch for her innovative and desperately needed "gender neutral" line, when you can probably walk into your nearest kids store right NOW and find clothes that already fit the bill.

How are those "gender neutral"? All of those look like regular girl's shirts with the only exception being the red one.

Green shirt with a dinosaur. Red shirt with construction equipment.

Revolutionary.

If they're gender neutral why is there a boys section and a girls section on the website?

I know right! I can put a shirt on my two year old that says
"Party Monster" in blue and he will forever think he is a boy because of it!!

Wow. This is apparently a thing. I wonder what schools offer this degree.

This is nothing new.

Hey I have a great idea! Phones that don't have wires that fit in your pocket. Someone write an article about me.
