I don't know if people understand how serious this is. Aside from dumping JPP info, there's a 2nd unrelated Pt's info included. I doubt ESPN legal ok'd that
Also, not only is the person who leaked this going to get fired, the hospital itself could face serious consequences up to loss of accreditation. This is a federal crime punishable by jail time.
So many lives have been ruined just so a reporter could scoop Twitter

If index finger amputation only injury, JPP @giants will have full recovery & play. Worry is what else injured, blast rarely contained.

Medical fact: Index finger is least important for power grip.
If this is JPP only injury, he will do fine in NFL.
Wish him the best.

That's shocking to me. Maybe because I have an overpowered index finger after waving it at OT posters so often.

Yeah I'm shocked ESPN was okay letting that out
Why? They report the sports news and this is sports news.

I almost titled the thread "JPP lost a finger", but didn't feel like reading JEAUXBLEAUX's "WHO IS JPP? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" post even though he lives in NY and is an NFL fan.

If espn was the one who made it public, they are the violators.
The person who took the picture is in trouble, but espn should and will be responsible for making it public
Posted on 7/8/15 at 7:33 pm to Mr.Perfect
actually, you could argue the person who sent it to Adam is the one who made it public

I have never understood the NFL's duties regarding HIPPA. Every injury is reported, player in the hospital, etc.
Posted on 7/8/15 at 7:53 pm to quail man
Yeah I don't see how ESPN would be liable. They didn't steal it. It was provided to them
Posted on 7/8/15 at 7:54 pm to Mr.Perfect
I don't think Media is held responsible for HIPPA violations. I was under the impression only the person who released it to them is. Am I wrong?

If you take a picture of my medical chart you are at risk for a hippa violation.
If you take that picture and sent it to abc news station you have committed a violation
If abc new station broacasts that picture and is the reason my information is now public, they do not have 1st ammendment protection and are just as guilty
