Id say no. The reputation of Paris is relevatively recent. It's been around for at least 2000 years but id argue that it never really became what we think of it today till the 1800s. Rome has been the center of the western world since 200 BC. Istanbul is a city that is likewise a city that had always been destined for greatness surviving and reinventing itself in each era. I'd even offer Vienna as a rival for Parisian art.

True. But Rome is dirty and nasty. And it stinks. And it just "feels" poor. It's no Milan.

For revered, I'd say: London, Paris, Rome, and NYC in that order. If you actually meant sacred, probably Jerusalem, Mecca and Lhasa based off the world's largest religions.

Same here. Can't wait to be an obnoxious American the whole time.

NYC is the World's City. It is by a long shot the most revered city. Go to Asia, and they probably don't know that much about Paris, but they'll know quite a bit about NYC due to it's exposure in film.

Oh get out of here with that. Paris was founded 300 years Before Christ. New York was a swamp for 2,000 more years.

? What gives you that date? As far as I've heard, they have no date for the founding of Paris (it was originally called something else). The Romans found a settlement there already but they didn't know for how long.

You can certainly debate that New York is the world's most revered city. But are you kidding when you say they have never heard of Paris in Asia? Paris is filled with Chinese and Japanese tourists.

Yeah, I mean, NY is famous and all, but London and Paris were the capitals of absolutely huge colonial empires and there are still ties between those countries. NY has nothing even close to that.

Lol.

Wrong again.

Now, it could be the most over-diagnosed city, if by "diagnosed" you meant "occupied".

They've heard of it most certainly, but what city is most prominent in films? It is New York and it's not really close. They watch these movies, so they tend to know more about New York than any other international city.

Finally. NYC is the world's greatest city without a doubt. It is known.

There's more than one definition of sacred and this one was obvious from context. You chose to be pedantic and still failed.

What does that have to do with anything? You think Los Angeles is the worlds second most revered city?

Yes.

Paris is amazing. High emphasis on quality of life, art, and design. Good infrastructure and of course it's consistently contributed to culture for a long time so it doesn't necessarily have to live in the past.
