Not sure how this is catering to black people when it could actually be taken offensively with a lot of stereotypes that are being used thus far. The rampant adultery, poor money management, the star being from Crenshaw, white gold diggers, etc.

Rock is gonna drop Reggie's arse at some point. Book it.
I was thinking that too. He loans 300 large, when he don't have it, to someone who just pisses money away with a MC Hammer entourage. At least he got the papers signed, but I feel like the Cowboys won't do the deal, and he will end up broke. I don't think the Rock gets that 300k back. I fell like the lineman turned car dealer will come back to the NFL.

I cant imagine the Rock's character being left with nothing but $3500.

I agree. Please let it be soon.

I can imagine him being left with $303,500.... Giving the $300k away put him in the hole but I'll imagine as long as the DT doesn't get hurt its a sound investment. May not get the $300k back directly but he signed a big contract and established himself a little more in the business.

I sincerely hope this show doesn't become a series of setbacks, such as Rock not getting that money back and struggling with potential bankruptcy. I had to stop watching both Dowton Abbey and Halt and Catch Fire because the negative events outweighed the positive 5 to 1. There are some morose, misery-loving people out there, but I am definitely not one of them.

The Miami rep kind of eluded to them needing his experience/brain. I can see him coaching in the future bc he seems to have his shite together and knows the position well.

Got has more setbacks than triumphs. It's the "thing" now. People tune in to drama. If they keep the positives:negatives on par with entourage I think it would be good.

But they're not stereotypes. This show is actually pretty well grounded in the reality of off-the-field issues for guys in and out of the NFL (and football in general). Every bit of this rings true.
Now, that doesn't make it the best show on TV by any stretch but it's pretty true to the source material. Maybe the lives of professional athletes just aren't really that intriguing or intelligent

well then I would have lent him $200k. leaving me with $103.5k.
no way I take that kinda chance on someone with that many hanger ons. I would have crushed Reggie the first chance I saw him being an a-hole.

I'll keep watching the show, but at this point it's barely above average.

I certainly wouldn't want The Rock's character taking care of my money if I knew that's how he handled his own.

so the guy that was haggling with the dallas coach, he's the actual sports agent right? And the Rock just wants to be his financial advisor?

That's my understanding, yes.

The reggie fricker would've gotten frickin smoked by the rock I think that's what he wants though
This show will answer the age old question of "how do these guys go broke"
I really hope they keep the car salesmen clean. He's really the only relatable character in the show, and I have a bad feeling they will drag him into some bullshite
