The hey now has to go, but he has a stronger voice than Jim Hawthorne, but those of us old enough will never forget the GREAT John Ferguson!

So we hired someone who knows nothing about the history of LSU.

Lol the LSU sports brand is a massive name. I bet this is as close a collegiate dream job as it gets for him. He'll learn the history. And I'm sure he's at least casually followed LSU for a while.

Jim Henderson has been the voice for the Saints for 30+ years. He's from New York.

AND??? People from NOLA sound just like they are from there! The southern-most northern city in America! My wife if from Richmond, VA and when she trained for her new job in NOLA for 2 weeks she laughed at yall's northern accent! The food is WAY better of course. BTW I am from Louisiana!!!

Don't like it at all, and for the life of me can't understand the negativity towards Lyn Rollins. He was by far the best choice - knowledgable about LSU and an entertaining announcer. I know I'm biased being from cenla and having talked to him several times, but I just think he was the man for the job.

Sorry Lyn....You can pucker up and kiss that play by play job good bye! All while rotating your head in a weird circle motion!

I've been out of town and haven't read all the threads on this guy. Love his voice, but are we going to hear "put a tiger 6 on it" on every LSU touchdown?

Isn't Lyn pretty much in charge of LSUs SEC Network operation now?

Excellent Hire, Excellent Voice , Can't wait till he starts calling the games, just wish he was starting with football instead of baseball but I can listen to Jim some more. Mr. Blair welcome aboard the Tiger Express.

His first football game will be at Lambeau Field.

No pressure, though.

Good hire. I love how he is descriptive in his call and has a booming voice. Like John Ferguson with some pep. He will do a great job.

LINK

quote:

He has an unusual signature touchdown call while broadcasting the Eagles’ games: “Put an Eagle six on it!” Georgia Southern has branded the phrase, using it as hashtags and in game prompts. Will he bring it to Baton Rouge: “Put a Tiger six on it”? “I’m not sure,” he said during an interview Saturday from his home in Statesboro, Georgia. “It’s almost like a Georgia Southern thing. ‘Touchdown LSU’ says all you need to say.”
