I personally believe tha the athletic department should buy let's say a quick stop near campus. The football players are then allowed to sign up for a "crime time " appointment for robbery of said quick stop. They can check out guns for their "ct" (crime time). No real bullets though. Just blanks. They're even allowed to mug, sucker punch, or beat up a willing employee at the store.

This is the type of outside the box thinking we need at LSU. Want to be athletic director?

Honestly I think the players can consider themselves lucky. If the roommate would have had a gun, he would have been in his rights to shoot them as soon as they acted aggressively, which they did by kicking in a door. It could have went really bad really fast.

On campus housing, guns are illegal

No it wasn't Harris.

But you also don't know what ANY 18-22 year old would do in this same situation.

I know any one of those guys would want their stuff back. PD doesn't do crap.

Actually, we do.

Everyday there are hundreds of millions of people who choose not to commit a crime.

Every.

Day.

People take matters into their own hands because the various PDs suck. I filed a complaint with BRPD on May 10th and have heard zero, zilch, nada.

So, please remove that self-righteous stick from your rear end.

But the PD in this case had already arrested the suspect and retrieved the laptop.

The PD didn't retrieve the laptop.

No one has yet stated that the shoes and playstation removed from the dorm room by D.Thomas belonged to Jennings.

If you wait for the police to solve theft crimes your stuff has been sold.

That's your first mistake, rookie. Everyone knows you just have to let your inspection sticker expire and then you'll get all the attention you want.

The wussification of America. What's the issue with going to get your stuff back? Wouldn't all of us have done the same when at LSU? I mean holy hell what kind of a vag do you have to be? "Hey that dude has your stuff, let's go get it". "Nah the cops will handle it in a few weeks".

Why is everyone acting like these guy are the mafia or some shite. As for breaking the law. What, you don't speed, a rolling stop, fished w/o a license, drink under age ? Give me a break. The guy let them in, his room mate is the criminal.

I'm pretty sure at least the laptop was sold, because.....

I think I read where Bain bought the laptop off craigslist to give back to Jennings.

Random thought: Even the small engineering firm I work for has tracking software; if my work computer is stolen and someone hooks to the internet in [almost] way, a message is sent to an IP address on our company network pinging at least the network it connected to. I would hope that the school has something similar for all academic staff and athletic staff, even on personal computers (allowing for the fact that the thief(s) might have never even turned it on). Like I said, random thought.
