Just had panels installed this weekend. Federal tax incentives end in 2016. LA tax incentives were supposed to end in 2017 but the Louisiana Senate voted 19-20 to curb them. It goes back to the House for approval now.

Alternative energies will become more widely utilized over the coming decades. Especially with the G7 summit goals set this past weekend.

There are better areas of the budget that can be cut than solar subsidies. Doing so will close many solar installation companies in the state and put a good amount of people out of a job.

Fwiw yall are off base on the law change. I was @ the Capitol. If your permit wasn't applied for by June 8, you aren't getting 50%.

Everyone now is eligible for 40%, on the sales side, but the state will stop after 1000 systems. Kiss Louisiana solar goodbye.

I'm thinking about getting panels but I'm a crazy person about everything and I'm worried about eliminating a lot of people for telling me what they think I want to hear.

Give me a shot. I haven't lost a bid job in over 5 years.

I've changed my pricing structure so that you have < 3-4 payback even at 40%

Typical Grid Tiered PV System w/radiator barrier Cost $25,000 Federal Tax Credit - $7500 Sate Tax Credit - $12,500 Net cost to me is $5,000 @ 18 month interest free.

I got the same deal from South Coast Solar. One of the best decisions I've ever made I. Regards to being a home owner. We have had the system for almost a year and it Is fantastic. My bills were running~ $130 per month. Now they are ~ $40. In February/March when it was nice outside our bills were $20. The tax credit is on the chopping block though.

damn that sounds sweet as hell. So I 100% will get the $12.5 k from the state? It's not like it's free that $25k has to be paid and is dependent on getting those income tax refunds.
It's scary to me, if you don't get the refund for whatever reason, then you are in the hole big time.

It's no longer 50%, it's 40 now. And its first come first serve. After 1000 jobs total in the entire state, it's shutting down.

The state is in communication with the bigger companies letting us know when we approach that 1000 cap.
