Yea, it's pretty hard to debate those numbers.
Actually it's very easy to debate those numbers. You're using global numbers, not national. The NBA is more popular globally, but the NFL is more popular nationally.

AD
If they were out in a random city, people would recognize AD more so than Beckham.
The Brow is easy to recognize and identify. It's a trademark.

That's actually a good point but it doesn't account for the absolutely enormous discrepancy. A factor though, for sure

And the NCAA tournament is insanely popular in the US and the guy led one of the most popular/hated teams in America to a championship with a giant fricking unibrow on his face. He was the #1 pick in the draft.
Like this discussion is hilarious.

OBJ is on the cover of Madden. This isn't even close. OBJ in a landslide.
I am guessing being on Madden's cover gives him a little more exposure, but not as much as you think. The people buying the game are usually football fans who most would already know who he was.
I say Anthony Davis is way more famous, and the social media numbers kinda prove it.

Actually you can but you can't argue with Twitter followers and Facebook likes so I wont.

I don't think those numbers tell the whole story though. the ones that like or follow these guys are fans of that sport most likely. there is a large segment of the population who aren't sports fans but likely have heard of obj from his catch last season. they also have may have heard of AD because of his brow too though. it's a tough call but i'd still say obj because he shut down the internet with that catch. i'm not sure any internet user was able to avoid it
i think you've grown too accustomed to how ridiculous AD is nightly.
it's AD right now and for the foreseeable future. he's had a massive fan base since he was at kentucky.

ODB #31 Most Marketable Athelte 2015

American, 22, Football
Record-breaking NFL sensation looking to make a famous name his own
Representatives: Encore Sports, Zeke Sandhu
Key partners: Nike, Trojan
2014 ranking: New entry
With a standout first season under his belt in the National Football League (NFL), New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr looks keen on making that world-famous name his own.
Chosen as the Giants’ first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Beckham saw his international fame skyrocket when he took ‘the catch’ in a game against Dallas Cowboys, which was later voted NFL play of the year. Showing he’s not afraid of a marketing stunt, Beckham followed that up with a Visa promo which saw him set a Guinness World Record for the number of one-handed catches in a minute – 33.
After taking 91 catches, receiving for 1,305 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns in 12 games in his record-breaking rookie season, Beckham received marketing and endorsement offers from ‘most of the major companies associated with the NFL and its players’, according to Jordan Raanan of the Newark Star-Ledger. Improving upon this next season will be no easy feat. But Beckham doesn’t appear the type to shy away from the limelight. MK

I saw Anthony Davis in the mall the other day, and not a single person walked up to him for a picture. He walked through without being stopped once.
Good point. I'm sure the 6' guy who wears a helmet on the field would draw more attention at a random mall.

That's because the few Pellies fans that actually exist were busy reading Boom's post history and making hilarious James Harden memes.

i don't. people in NOLA are pretty chill when it comes to celebs and shite, from all accounts. i'm sure multiple people recognized him. it's not like he's hard to spot.
just people don't go up to him for a picture.

You keep throwing this number out. I would bet 95% of America, at a bare minimum, saw the catch. Run those numbers and get back to me.
You people using the popularity of March fvcking Madness to discount someone who is on the cover of Madden and basically shutdown the Internet? Give me a damn break.
And I like March Madness.
