He sti averaged like 21/5/5 this year didn't he? Haha I agree his body is failing him BUT when he does play he's still pretty damn good.

It's just hard to get him to play for long periods of time

Had a 21 PER playing in 62 games, averaging 32 mpg. Knowing his knee issues, I think that is a pretty good season. Much better than most were predicting when he was missing games early.

Didn't wade opt out of his contract last year to take less money? Everyone assumed the Heat would make it up to him, seems like he's just forcing the issue. No way the Heat will let him leave.

Reilly will get him signed.

It's silly to think he's irrelevant.

this is true, but 2 guards have to be able to shoot the three....but then again this is a board that thinks hitting 18% from 3 makes you the GOAT.

Yeah. But you have to be willing to change your game. If Wade took less money to be a role player for an elite team, I'd be happy for him. But he's not that type of guy. He will continue to abuse his body and try to be the man.

What are you talking about? He took a backseat on the court and less money to form the Heatles.

Wade is absolutely that type of guy. Will he do it in Miami? who knows.

I think a big issue is that Miami really needs to sign The Dragon, who wants to play uptempo, while Wade wants a half-court game nowadays.

He is 33 and is still on a team trying to build a championship contender. This is much different than pierce leaving the celtics.

In fairness, even being injury prone, Wade is so much better than Pierce

I am just super interested to see how his game translates late in to his career. Most of the guys have been able to hang around because they can knock down 3's and that has never been his game.

But they all did it together, and he still considered himself a star.

In the NBA, it's all about being elite at your role. I don't believe Dwyane Wade can be an elite scorer anymore. He can be a good scorer. But a good scorer can hurt a team if he's taking opportunities away from others.

This is a nice way to put it. I'm pretty certain that Wade will fail.

oh yeah, I totally agree, which is part of the reason I dont buy this "LeBron carried his team single handily to the finals" crap...Wade has enough of the dribble, post and cut game to give you 20-30 any given night, but those FTA should drop off.

A 3pt shot puts him back in the convo though.

I think the Heat will eventually come to an agreement with him. He doesn't want to leave, Heat don't want him to go.

They owe him imo after he took multiple pay cuts below his market value so the Heat had cap space.

It's just a balancing act. Heat want to pay him, but Bosh is signed to a max deal, drago will get close to a max deal to keep, Whiteside will be close to a max deal in two years.. both sides know all this and they will work it out imo.

Micky just needs to offer those post retirement free cruises for life (off the books of course). D Wade will re-sign.

For the windows in which he is healthy Wade is still a very good player but those are too short and too unreliable to give him more than what he's already going to receive if you are Heat management IMO. If the Heat are going to try to stay relevant with (not especially young) players in Drago and Bosh they really can't max out and lengthen Wade's contract

I dunno if this is just a negotiation tactic but his desires and the Heat's needs are starting to diverge so much I dunno if it makes sense for them to stay a couple. Does he want another payday so badly that he'll go to a bad franchise willing to overpay?

If it just comes down to money, China is a legitimate threat rather than another NBA team. It's been reported Wade has an equity stake in Li-Ning. If he goes to China, we're talking one of the richest athletes of all time AND he can come back and play for ANY NBA team during the stretch run.

It's over D-Wade. Just take your lovely bride and sail off into the sunset.

Andre Miller hung around by posting up half way down the court. I think Wade could hang around a long time posting up PGs. I'm not saying he'd be willing to though.
