Flight from Dallas to Amarillo this afternoon was like riding Thunder Mountain for an hour just after a thunderstorm. Girl next to me threw up a couple of times. Very quiet on the inside.

As bad as that seemed, I'm sure many have gone through much worse. What's the worst you've experienced?

American Airlines?

If so, I have flown that same flight and it was bumpy as hell for me on a day with great weather.

Worst flight I have ever been on made my drink hit the bottom of the luggage rack after the plane suddenly lost altitude. We fell for only a second or two, but it happened a couple of times. The guy behind me had his peanuts land in my lap, along with the flight attendant .

Bogota to Buenos Aires. Pretty sure the pilot fell asleep a couple of times. Seriously thought we were going to crash.

traveling from louisiana to Lake tahoe, the leg from Dalls to Reno was the worst I have ever been on...

it was just like a roller coaster the whole way...flight attendants were never allowed to unbuckle their seatbelts...people throwing up constantly...

Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole...

Flying back from Vegas recently was pretty bad, although coming off a bender played a role. The rest of my row were girls coming from a bachelorette, and every single one of us had a bag handy in case we need to vomit. It was a sorry sight. I had to run to the bathroom to pull the trigger twice.

For some reason the stretch over north Texas is always pretty bumpy.

Montego Bay to Charlotte. Dropped over Cuba and everyone went full panic mode for 10 min. Even the flight attendants looked scared to death. No warning was given, just dropped out of the sky until we finally got control. I pissed my pants a little.

Had a flight from Vegas to Phoenix once that was constant turbulence and I got sick from all the bumps. Walked off the plane and told the pilot he sucked at flying.

I flew through Texas as well today and had a very turbulent flight.

The captain said the air was just abnormally choppy.

Final approach to San Diego. Coming in over the mountains with a heat wave and a strong Santa Ana wind. Lunches were lost.

ATL-MOB defending through the storm, the turbulence began at around 20,000 up near BHM, in a 50-seater it was crazy, got thrown around like a kernel of popcorn.

Was pretty bad but I know folks could have been worse.

Saw a flight attendant hit the roof of the cabin on the way to Brazil once. Multiple people screaming and praying under their breath for the duration.

I've had a few so so turbulent flights.

But, the scariest one to me was a flight I took on a prop plane from Syracuse to Potsdam.

The winds were VERY strong and I just remember looking out my window on the left side of the plane and realizing that I was looking IN OUR DIRECTION OF TRAVEL!!!

The bitch was basically flying sideways.

Yeah. Not pleasant.

Flying from O'Hare to Dayton when I was a little kid. Flight ahead of us crashed in Des Moines and our flight had to divert or something and we missed our connector. Got on a plane in O'Hare 8 hours later. They flew us through a brutal storm. Made it down safe, but the turbulence was nasty. My mom hated flying, and would yell out every time we jolted. I was embarrassed once we got off...some girl looked at me and my mom, pointed, and said "there's the lady that screamed".

EDIT: Flying from San Francisco to O'Hare, and then O'Hare to Dayton. Poor storytelling on my part.

My wife and I recently flew from Maui around The Big Island in a very small aircraft, and she had to sleep on my shoulder for most of it because she got airsick. We didn't even get to see Kilauea because of storms. I'm not bitter or anything.

Flying into Las Vegas once, the turbulence got intense. One time we dropped and hit "solid air" again so hard, I thought we hit the ground. Luggage bins popped open and stuff was flying everywhere. A group in the back of the plane had been drinking heavily and laughed through the whole ordeal. Lesson learned.

I flew into Aberdeen Scotland in early January once. The North Sea winds made that the most intense approach I've ever experienced.
