I don't get all the hate for new Orleans. Most major cities are more disgusting and trashier.

San Fran smells a lot worse too. Can't go to a public park without smelling ganja.

Everywhere you walk, trashy all over. No real sense of culture like NO.

It's almost as if one is much older than the other.

No. No it's not. And if you think weed smells worse than vomit then you're an idiot.

SF >>>> NOLA and this shouldn't be an argument.

San Francisco's biggest problem to me is the techie gentrification of it. It's losing a lot of it's soul and becoming a playground for young, rich tech workers.

I'm not saying that that's the worst thing that could happen to San Francisco, but it's just different, and I don't romanticize the place like I used to.

Many people move to escape culcha. In New Orleans you have more to worry about than smelling marijuana when you go to the park.

They are both old port cities. There will always be an element of seediness to them. Just like New York, Rotterdam and Marseille. There are very few great cities in the world that aren't ports with direct roots to the sea.

Major cities in Africa maybe. Not in the western world.
