Offensive Line possibilities/thoughts

My thoughts are that the Saints are have their starting O-line on the team and have made huge strides from last year. The question is who is going to play where? the popular train of thought has been either Peat or Zack to Guard. I have a different theory. Peat is a prototypical LT with size and athletic ability and touted the top LT in the Draft. Zack was arguably one of the top 5-10 Right tackles in the league last year. Armstead is a great talent but not prototypical size at tackle. He has great front line speed but struggled in space and with lateral movement. He was rated from the 17th best LT to the 27th best on sites I found. He actually sounds a lot like L.Collins who is so beloved on here. He is actually the same size but might be a little better suited to be a good-great pulling guard. I just i might be a possibility for the future of the Saints, not sure it is how we look on day one of the 15' season.

Take it with a grain of salt, but Payton said they have no plans to move Peat, Strief or Armstead to guard.

What site had him as the 27th LT?

Peat will be better at RT than LT.
I'm thinking Strief maybe traded. I doubt he moves to guard, but he might. I'd love to keep him

Actually my second guess.

Nope. He said Peat is a tackle and they INITIALLY have no plans to move Strief or Armstead to guard.
Reading between the lines that tells me if Peat wins a starting job then one of them will move to guard to compete with(and likely beat out) Lelito.

I call possible bullshite on Payton. I think there's a real chance that Strief goes back to guard eventually.

I don't think there is a chance Strief goes to guard. He is our best tackle. It's Armstead. I don't see a 6'7-6'8 guard in our future.

Better yet, find one that says Strief is not a top 5-10 RT from 2014. I haven't found a site yet.

It's really all up in the air. There are more questions than answers. We could really end up fricking ourselves over if we don't make the right move.
It seems like a waste to keep 3 really good tackles when there is a missing link at LG. We could naturally keep them if LG was set and ready to go.
But one of them has to move or one needs to be traded. Lelito still haunts my dreams at night. If he starts at LG I will be nervous for Drew all season

If you believe a single word that comes out of Payton's mouth, you are a fool.
Payton also said, "La'el Collins will be drafted tonight", referring to the 2-3rd Round.
He also said, "Bryce Petty is the best passer in the draft."

I expect the rotation to be as follows;
LT Armstead
LG Kelemete/Lelito
C Unger
RG Evans
RT Strief
Peat will get a chance to win the starting LT spot. This has been mentioned, but we could see a lot of 6 man OL formations especially since we are supposedly moving to a more balanced attack.
I do believe that you will not see any 3 of tackles slide down to guard. Kelemete and Lelitos spot to win.

What? He's the 8th best RT???

I don't think Peat plays much this year unless Strief or Armstead get injured. Evans will be gone after this year. I could see Strief moving to RG in 2016, with Peat and Armstead the starting OT's.

We really won't know until camp. I think it will be a genuine open competition for both tackle spots
