Seeking wisdom from the enlightened palates of the FDB.
Booked a room in downtown nola for an anniversaery celebration. Looking for options preferably in quarter/CBD area but would be willing to uber around as well. Have been a lot of places down there, love the traditional staples as well as the more adventurous menu. Seeing if there were any new or must experience places that we should consider.
Any ideas?

I wouldn't suggest Peche for the record. I think Herbsaint is tough to beat for a special dinner.

So many differing opinions of Peche. I've eaten at revolution a couple of times and do like it. Have always wanted to try Herbsaint.

I don't recommend it for an anniversary. Peche is very casual and doens't fit the bill for an intimate dinner. The food is great, and I'm unaware of negative reviews.

I feel like I've read some posts on this board where some felt it was overhyped. Friends who have eaten there have all told me it was great. I hear what you're saying about atmosphere. Decisions decisions

I think the only person who said that was the person who ordered fish sticks and hush puppies. It is really good. But like O said, I wouldn't want to do that for an anniversary.

Ubering might not be very reliable depending on the dates of your visit. My vote is Herbsaint.

Go to Lilette. It's perfect for an anniversary dinner.

We've been to Lilette and it's easily one of my favorite restaraunts in the city. Looking to try something new.

If you're willing to go uptown look into Gautreau's or La Petite Grocery, both are killer spots.

I love Peche, but it's not what I perceive to be an "anniversary" restaurant.
If you haven't tried R'evolution, it fits the bill. Ate there earlier this month and everything was delicious. Nice atmosphere, fine dining service and those chairs! So comfortable.
I also agree with Gautreau's if you haven't been there.

Well, perhaps I've made an assumption, but it seems that most folks who are asking for anniversary suggestions are asking because they want something on the level of fine dining...something special, unless they indicate otherwise.
If that doesn't matter, Peche is certainly fine. I love the place.

Is that for causing Zach to accuse me and cuss me out last week?
You didn't do anything in this thread for an apology.
Yet...
