quote:That's a really good deal, and seeing as how Fi doesn't have family plans right now it would be $100 just for the 5 lines it's definitely not right for you.
i pay $110 which gets me 2.5gb per line for 5 devices with TMO.
quote:I'm sure customers like this, so I'm torn on it because it's a huge blow to net neutrality. Hard for alternative music services to compete without a level playing field.
add in the fact tmo offers 'music freedom' which is a license to abuse GOOGLE MUSIC and Pandora

Why do they make you choose a plan if they refund you on shortages and charge you a pro-rated price on overages? Seems pointless to have a "plan".

I don't understand the data plans
Why not just charge me for what I use each month instead of making me pay for a certain amount and then refunding me?
Eta: bbap - that

i know. i've read your posts.
i fully admit to being a whore here..but if i didnt have this 'loophole' from TMO 2.5GB wouldn't get me through the month. i listen to music CONSTANTLY and i'm always in my car.

Too bad I don't outright own my Nexus 6.
Even if I pay for 5GB, my phone bill is higher than $70/mo.

You on next?
You would be free to pay it off and walk away

Also, I'm more than sure that Google will do everything they can to lower the cost if this takes off.
I wonder what the HHI would be then?

There's a reason I went with Next and didn't just buy it outright.

It's showing deep green LTE coverage for me over my house, but anytime I've searched for towers in my area I've only seen AT&T towers. I don't know whether they let Sprint/T-Mo use them or not. As it is now, my LTE coverage for AT&T at my house is not that strong. I'm always at about half signal, and it's frequently HSDPA+ or regular HSDPA, not LTE. I'm skeptical that it would be better, or even as good, if I were on Sprint/T-Mo around here.

for your total bill?
Total bill. AT&T had an option a while back of upgrading from the 10 to the 15 for no extra cost.

Google says Project Fi phone numbers "live in the cloud," according to Google, enabling you to text and place voice calls from a laptop or tablet without your actual phone nearby. When you are on the phone, Google says calls can seamlessly transition to LTE when you leave a Wi-Fi network. Google seems to be using the new, combined Hangouts / Google Voice infrastructure in some way for Fi, as its FAQ references it often.
Did they finally fix MMS issues so you don't have to forward txts to your email?

These plans seem to work best for people that travel internationally
The data and phone calls cost the same no matter where you are located

One can dream though

quote:Ah, well that's pretty good assuming you use close to 15gigs every month. I am on the bottom rung 200meg plan with AT&T, so I watch my data very closely and am very cautious when not around wifi. I believe this would put my Project Fi bill at around $22

I don't understand this being high priced?
To me it would cut in half the bill of almost everyone I know (3-4 gigs per person at 50-60 bucks vs. 100bucks).

Holy Cow at that coverage, this is huge

$10 per GB sucks a mean dick
Not quite as bad when you consider it will only be 20 for voice text etc. Leaves a lot of room to buy much data and still pay less than most carrier plans.

Also, I don't think a lot of people are figuring their actual usage, and how much of what they currently pay for is wasted. Even rollover data plans waste data when they expire.

quote:do they have any family deals? BC I automatically saw it as 4lines with 5GB as $280 without adding in phone payments.

You do get money back, but everyone in my FAM pretty much uses the limit
