Best way to cook shark

I failed miserably Saturday, and have about 8-10 oz left.
My thought now is to soak them in buttermilk, batter, and fry them.
I soaked in milk and grilled them Saturday and it tasted like rubber piss. Top 10 worst things I've ever tasted. It was like someone sprayed bathroom cleaner in my mouth for about an hour afterwards.
What's the secret to making this stuff edible?

I usually filet small black tips and cook like redfish on the halfshell.

that's fitting because sharks contain alot of urea, the main ingredient in piss. I usually gaff or shoot the bastards and throw them back.
The only way I've had them prepared is fried. Good luck

Cut into nugget size pieces, batter and fry them in peanut oil, if it's black tip.
Soaking in milk is a good move. Don't have to though.
ETA: we fried this mutha a few years back:

I see that original fish tacos in Mexico were shark, but damn whenI tasted it in Costa Rica it had a horrible chemical taste that I hope to never experience again.

I have no idea how to answer your question but I catch a lot of black tips in the lake and people always say they taste good. I always throw them back. Apparently it is imperative to "bleed" them immediately. You may ask this on the outdoor board.

Yes, I think they excrete urine through their skin, so if they aren't prepared immediately after catching them you get the piss taste.

Did this on a 5' black tip we caught last year and I was really surprised at how good it turned out.

fill a pot up with boiling salt water. after the pot comes to a rolling boil, throw the shark meat in it. immediately turn fire off. after it cools..........throw the whole fricking thing away.

I've grilled them just like you would swordfish. These are especially sensitive to drying out if overcooked.

Make soup with the fin, use the rest for bait to catch more fins

This is exactly how it tasted when I cooked it one time.

There is a reason shark is a cheap fish. Most of it caught commercially on the gulf coast goes to Mexico. Not much of a market here for it.
