I understand the view that she was being facetious or sarcastic. I think even the director of the episode said that.
But the scene itself didn't depict that at all IMO. None of the context leading up to that exchange made it seem sarcastic. If that's what they were shooting for it was really poorly done. She still came across as an a-hole either way.

Yeah, it was poorly done if that was the goal.
I don't understand people clamoring for Harry -- we just saw him do one of probably the ten scummiest things we've seen on the show in propositioning Megan, then acting like a child when she shuts him down, then finally spinning it to Don like she was unstable and couldn't be trusted.
As for Ken, how much more can we legitimately expect to see now that he's left the company?

I don't think we see Cosgrove again, but I do think we have some more time with Harry.

They showed him on the bullshite preview of next week, for what it's worth (nothing).
Glen grew up and became AJ Soprano

I want to see Pete have to wine and dine him.

She was being completely facetious. His reaction should have confirmed that.
Yeah. His reaction confirmed that. But how did he know she was being facetious? The writing and the acting didn't make that clear in my opinion. It was not well done. I want people to know that I have literally said that Mad Men is my favorite show of all-time. I have no reason to hate this last half season. It's destroying things for me.

I always liked that actor (Bruce Greenwood), especially on the defunct John in Cincinnati (HBO). He's just a smooth arse dude.
Jonathan Devereaux was smooth.

This half-season is playing out as an epilogue.

I mean this in all sincerity: what do you people want? A shoot out followed by a car chase? Another fist fight or hanging?
You've all (I assume) watched the slow play for years now but NOW THAT THERES 4 EPISODES LEFT THINGS AREN'T HAPPENING FAST ENOUGH FOR ME AND I'M TYPING FURIOUSLY TO SHOW MY DISPLEASURE.
Spoiler alert: Don isn't going to jump off the roof and the Member's Only jacket guy doesn't have a piece stashed in the bathroom
Thank you.

Can't stand her anymore, but that dude is cold as frick.
I kinda disagree, unless honesty is cold (which I guess it can be).
He could have fricked her, packed, and left with a tip of the cap and a sayonara as the last thing she heard, but instead he told her the truth.

That is what my wife said. Well, she said "he could have f'd her first."
So who want's to see Cosgrove make Campbell go on a hunting trip with him for business?

I have not been a fan of this season at all, but I thought the last scene with Don getting kicked out of his apartment and the realtor saying they need to find somewhere for Don was great. It's 1970 and Don really has no place in the new world. It's pretty obvious he's as much uncomfortable with 1970 as he was comfortable with existing in the early 60's. He's alone in every aspect of his life. I have no idea where this is headed though. I do think Don or Megan will die on Air Canada Flight 621.
If they kill Don off in a plane crash or Meagan then Weiner was screwing AMC over for splitting the final series which he could very well be doing now.
Also, this next episode is directed by Lane Pryce (Jared Harris).

Are you people serious? Im not sure how much more obvious it could have been that she was being facetious. If that scene was too nuanced for you guys, then im not sure this show is for you guys. haha.

I agree. It was blatantly clear that she was being sarcastic.

This show. Going to miss it.

My wife and I didn't get that she was being sarcastic. Eventually we realized that she had to have been, but it didn't come across as sarcasm.

I have to disagree in this case. My biggest issue this season has been the introduction of new characters we're going to have for a whopping handful of episodes (and not really great ones at that) instead of really fleshing out what we already have.
It's still Mad Men which makes it higher quality than a lot of shows, but the split has really hurt this season. To say that doesn't make anyone too "ADD" to handle the show.

It didn't for me either at first. That scene just felt rushed.

Shirley, we are serious.
The way it was presented just carried zero sarcasm or humor value to me. A swing and a miss I'd say .
Changing topics - The 2nd part of this last season does seem a bit discombobulated I guess. But if I'm remembering right, there was a bit of grumbling towards the end of Breaking Bad too - with Walt sitting on his thumbs in Maine (or wherever that frozen hideaway was) - until the last couple of episodes which were pretty electric. Now I don't expect Don to rig up an automatic machine gun in the trunk of his car to take out a gang of rivals or to threaten say Roger and Joan into providing his kids with "clean" money. But there are still enough episodes left to send this show off with a bang

Yeah, the shootout and car chase comments are really played out on Mad Men threads. If someone is incapable of discussing or criticizing a TV show, it likely means they don't really understand what's going on.
