Thoughts on Daredevil midway through episode 5: Good show, awful writing

The Marvel movies are filmed a certain ingenious way. They are filmed for pure enjoyment. They allow us to look past some of the inherent silliness leaving us with simple enthusiasm.
With the gritty darkness that comes with Daredevil comes a much tighter focus on story and the writing isn't up to par.
I love the acting. I love the world they've built. I absolutely love how they've handled Kingpin. This show has potential and I most certainly will keep watching it.
But the show rings false. I am continuously reminded that I'm watching a show, something the marvel movies never did.
Outside of Matt and Kingpin, I don't really buy any of the other characters. They feel flat. They do stuff that a child would think.

Stopped watching after 3 episodes. Moves slower than molasses even with some major fight scenes. It makes me want to watch the Ben Affleck film.
Which sucked.

It does. Slow pays off sometimes and it definitely does here.
Most underrated character of season 1?

I'm about the only person here that knights for the (director's cut) Affleck flick and you just wrong mayne.
This show punches that movie straight in it's nu-metal balls.

I get that people really like Arrow and The Flash, but this show is so above and beyond those, IMO. I've tried to get into Arrow so many times and I just can't do it. I recently tried again the other day and it just made me appreciate Daredevil even more. The quality of writing, acting, etc is pretty damn good, IMO.

You see, so far, I like Arrow better. I can believe Arrow so much more than I can believe this. Arrow doesn't try to be realistic. This does and comes off as childish.

I'm in the middle of episode 12 right now and I find its getting worse as it goes along. The plot is pretty bland and I don't like the way they're handling the Kingpin. There seems to be less and less DD each episode. The fight in the Russian shite hole appears to be the series' peak.

The teenybopper shite and the perky chicks in Arrow are a big turn off for me. Daredevil doesn't frick around with any of that. I didn't see it trying to come off as "reality". They don't even really explain how he gets his powers. Just my opinion.

I guess experience comes into play. I've known many many lawyers and I know journalistic investigations and both story lines are hogwash.
I literally turned off the show for a bit when Foggy said that he was going to help fix up the old lady's apartment. What dumb fricking lawyer does that. A smart person documents the living conditions to present at a later point to show that the owner is failing in his duties.

This show isn't trying to be realistic. It exists in the same world as the avengers, you can tell it's going to take a more sci fi turn and gets pretty cheesy once "daredevil" is revealed.

I turned off Arrow in episode 1 of season 2 when Oliver started talking to John and he starts referring to himself as the vigilante. There are literally dozens of people with cameras all around him and he's talking about himself being Green Arrow. I just couldn't do it anymore.

You have a problem with Daredevil because it's too realistic and you can't believe it, but you believe Arrow because it's not realistic.
Wat?

Thank you.
And I've yet to watch anything from Marvel or DC where I don't have to suspend some kind of belief along the way. Even Nolan's Batman. I just finished the first episode and I've enjoyed it thus far.
