Let's do this. Bill Murray vs Nic Cage. Body of work

This seems a fair comparison. I want to see how the boards irrational acclaim for Cage holds up
Theyve both made close to 80 movies. Murray has had his share of "rent is due" parts. He just exercised a bit of restraint
Give me youre top 10 roles for each. Side by side
Sorry in advance for you Cage acolytes. Im assuming he has 10 movies you actually like
Id post the IMBD for both but im not putting up 160 movies

I think it's hilarious they filmed Groundhog Day in reverse because they knew Bill was going to be frustrated/assholish by the end of of filming.

Bill Murray vs Nic Cage
Cage is pretty laughable. I wasn't aware people were fans of him

None of the great Wes Anderson movies, broken flowers, or lost in translation?
That list looks very Cage biased

I think Murray is overrated. Hipsters seem to love him though.

Bill Murray in a landslide.

This is sort of like those "could Alabama beat an NFL team?" debates on the More Sports Board. No, they couldn't. And Nic Cage can't compete with Bill Murray. He's on a different level.

Well the M/TV board seems to keep a weekly Cage thread. I tried to consider someone with a somewhat similar career
Murray is 10+ yrs older but theyve been in as many films. Which can be explained by his SNL run
Murrays credits slant more toward comedy although he's done respectable dramatic work. Cage slants action with respectable dramatic work

Murray wins easily, but if you are going to complain about the other guy not listing the Wes Anderson flicks for Murray, you can't seriously put Knowing on the list for Cage and leave off Adaptation.

I love some Cage movies like Lord of War, The Weatherman, Con Air, etc. So I would go with Cage.

Great movie but Bill Murray has very little to do with that. Very minor role. Rushmore works, though.

While I agree it is a reasonable comparison, for me it's Bill Murray by a significant margin.

Murray is a living legend. Cage is not even close. And I like Nick Cage.
