But these guys are supposedly licensed engineers and they don't think the answer to that problem is 288
Never said it was one or the other I'm arguing that you aren't wrong for choosing one over the other. And I'm not a licensed engineer (although I have the necessary years experience and am not afraid of the test. I'd just take a pay cut to go back to any position required to use the PE and I don't have time to prepare).
Good luck on the exam

Which P.E. are you taking? Civil? Which Depth?
Also
P.S.- I sit for the P.E. in October. Debating on taking S.E./P.E. or just civil structural.

LOL...SE exam huh? Good luck with that shite man. The PE exam is a joke compared to that sumbitch.
As for the problem... probably something in EM fields.

I figured out the deflection of a cantilevered beam today
Took me a couple hours but I got it

Determining human factors variables and risks. As a ChE, humans are too damn illogical to design around.

I still don't understand heat transfer, would have been one of those if I ever did.

The July 16 thing seemed hard at first.

If the most difficult problem you've solved is one from a textbook, you haven't done much with your life.

Yeah, all that real world actual math and science shite won't get you past a government regulator on a power trip.

Imaginary Numbers never turn you down. When all the others turn you away, they're around.

In high school I trisected a triangle with proof. Lsu professors confirmed.

Beam deflection and dead load deflection are about as complicated as I like to get.
I consider the math I do daily (surveyor) to be routine and I like it that way.

Not much, as soon as they started getting difficult I changed my focus to learning how to use social skills coupled with simple math to manipulate finance and increase my net worth exponentially faster than the nerds trying to solve complex equations from engineering textbooks.
