So what does that mean?
Voldemort actively trying to get Harry to the Hall of Prophecy. Invading his dreams so that he'll be curious and come retrieve the prophecy.

That looks like what I turned in for my science project in 9th grade.
I did not get a good grade on that.

quote:Yea, I didn't read any of the books so I didn't have that going in. I loved many aspects of the movie. The idea of Harry teaching the other wizards was cool. The ending was awesome. My favorite character has always been sirius black so watching him in a wizard fight was really cool. It was the first time I really got to see the cool wizard action scenes I've always wanted to see from the movies.
It's my favorite book, but the movie does not come close to doing the book justice. It was the second most disappointing behind Half Blood Prince.

Why not do this in Excel?
Dude, I live in excel...but anything that has any importance to me personally, gets written down first.
Plus, excel pretty much sucks as a word processor. You type too much in one cell, and accidentally switch cells, you have to zoom all the way out to find your place again...talk about a horror movie

The last movie is close to as bad as the Half Blood Prince movie.
I enjoy much of it but boy did they destroy the ending. In the book, it is clear Harry's sacrifice basically cast a protective spell on everyone in Hogwarts. Then Harry and Voldemort fight one on one in the great hall in front of everyone. Voldemort is killed when his spell rebounds back onto him and his body does not disappear. So it is perfectly clear he is dead.
In the movie, he is killed where no one but Harry can see it and his body disintegrates. So everyone has to rely solely on Harry's word that Voldemort is dead and gone for good without a body for proof. He already died once and came back. Plus, there was a strong history of people distrusting Harry for one reason or another. So why in the world would most people just accept Harry's word that Voldemort is gone? Plus, Harry missed his epic opportunity to be the hero in front of everyone. Instead, he meekly walks back into the great hall after the fight and a few people awkwardly nod at him. Incredibly anti-climactic.

Summed it up perfectly. Also, the jumping off the roof together/flying around scene was stupid.
Neville cutting off the snake's head was not nearly as cool either.

They also messed up how Nigini was killed.
They botched the ending. Not sure why they even had to deviate.

I remember seeing that in the trailer and thinking surely it was a dream someone has in the movie and not what actually takes place in the final battle. I was sorely disappointed.
Agreed about Neville and Nagini.

The ending in the book was absolutely perfect. They added a bunch of unnecessary and drawn out battles.

I remember reading the ending when the book came out and thought "this scene of Harry circling voldemort in the middle of the great Hall whilst verbally deconstructing him in front of everyone while v is just realizing his spells can't do shite to Harry, is going to be the most badass, fulfilling scene of the whole series.
Then they just fricked it up completely.
Whatever

I hope they re-make the movies and make them darker and not necessarily tailored to young kids. I know others on here have expressed the same sentiments.
I doubt it happens, but you never know.

I'm betting you it had everything to do with CGI. When I saw it, the first thing I thought was that they took everyone else out of the scene to reduce the CGI/filming difficulty (budget) and they had him disintegrate because they wanted a cool 3D effect.
Completely sucked.

I've always hoped for an animated series (still not necessarily for kids). Could do better justice to the books.

that was the one movie that could have been combined with Half Blood Prince instead of being a separate movie
I definitely have to disagree. Yeah, they fricked up the Half Blood Prince when it became a movie, but I don't see how you could combine them. If anything, I'd say you make the Half Blood Prince into The Deathly Hallows Part 1, and then form it into a trilogy. Really think they should have filmed the final 3 movies simultaneously so they had a clue that Ron and Hermione's side story is completely pointless.

I wouldn't go that far, but it gloriously shits the bed in the final 15 minutes. The movie was basically a perfect adaptation until it decides to have a Hollywood over-the-top ridiculous bullshite ending. It should have been nice and simple, with actual tension, like say this scene: LINK

Umbridge is a great villain, the problem with book 5 is that its sooooooooo long and Harry is a whiny little bitch the whole time.
Yeah, Umbridge isn't the issue with Order, it's just way, way too long. JKR really could have cut 300 pages from it, and I think when she published it, she realized it was sloppily written and toned it down a peg with HBP.
