Chain, more than one restaurant with same ownership with shared expenses....TJ's
Also the same owners have multiple restaurants out west. So national chain?

This is not my personal definition, but everyone has their own.

Owned by Burke. His dad gave him a "special" deal.

Burke - Good to hear things are back to business. I remember the first location on highland back in school, and my wife and have enjoyed TJ's since then.
For a place that's been around nearly 30 years - quite an accomplishment - some times may be off and there will be ups and downs. True of any business open that long. I don't get the negativity though. Went there a few weeks back for lunch and had one of the best hamburgers in town. Friends from LSU come back into town and they'll want to go back for something they used to eat while in school. Never hear anyone complain.

Since you have been involved as a kid in the Highland Road restaurant tell me what no one else here can. What was the name of the restaurant on the corner of Highland Road and Airline Hwy where the Shell Station is now? It was there before Albertsons was built and was used for the restaurant scenes in Everyone's All American then torn down. It was built in early to mid 70's and was two restaurants and I can't remember the name and have asked for years here and no one knows.
If you don't remember call the old man because I'm sure he remembers. Ruffin didn't remember. Mike Popajohn threw John Goodman through the mirror.

Agree 100%. I ordered a dish at ninfas last time I was there and it looked like it came out of a lean cuisine box. Disgusting to say the least.

Wasn't Jack Sabins. That was by Old Hammond Hwy and Airline- one block south across from Bank of The South. It is currently being remodeled for a Scientology Dianetics Center.
Don't remember Gus's but that just doesn't ring a bell.

Owned by Burke, living in Montana, operating several restaurants that are similar, sounds like a chain to me?

I drove by there a thousand times,, I can't pull it up. My mental rolodex is getting rusty. Heck, it's been rusty for a while.
