Advice for Boston

I'm taking my wife to Boston for five days, leaving on Friday. I'm wondering if someone who's been before can suggest places to check out. I've heard that the Science Museum, Freedom Trail, marina, and JFK Library are all interesting. Also heard that the Harpoon Brewery tour is better than the Sam Adams tour. Will be going to Fenway Park following the Boston Marathon on Monday, so not really interested in going to a baseball game. Any other suggestions?

Freedom trail, Fenway park, eat at Newton oyster bar, but make your reservation about 3 hours ahead of time.

Play the first album right through.
Stop at "Let Me Take You Home Tonight".

There's a difference between "going to Fenway" and "going to a baseball game at Fenway" so I suggest doing the latter.

Mikes pastry in the north end.

Harpoon is good, get a pretzel

if you have time drive to Gloucester, while the fishing fleet is not what it was once there are restaurants where you can get lobster off the boat. Lobster and beer until you can't walk is always a good time.

Freedom trail - a must do. Fenway Park. A little over an hour from Cape Cod - Falmouth is beautiful. Salem is nearby. Clam chowder is the best in the world in and around Boston. Gloucester or the Cape for lobster.

boston is home to America's oldest restaurant, which also features probably the best chowder in the city as well. unfortunately i forgot the name of the restaurant, but i think its on or near the freedom trail

Union Oyster House, ate the chowda when I was there in March. I'll be back for work in 2 weeks

Give your email and I'll shoot you a guide I've made and sent to a few people on here before.

Do not go to Union Oyster House. Tourist trap.

Great advice here. But you'll have to devote an entire day to it.

This is correct. Don't bother with Sam Adams, but Harpoon is great. Also, if you like smaller craft brews, check out Trillium. One of the best breweries in the city.

I think you mean Neptune Oyster Bar. Great lobster roll. But they do not take reservations and you will have a long wait unless you go at odd hours. If you go there, put your name on the list and explore the North End. They'll call your cell whenever your table is ready.

Marathon weekend is one of the best times of the year to come to Boston. You and your family should have a blast. My family is coming up on Friday as well. Running in my first marathon and I can't wait for next week. If you see a guy in a white LSU hat that looks like he wants to die, that's me. Throw something at my head to put me out of my misery.

I am a fan of driving to Cape Cod.
For Boston the must is Freedom Trail
I would suggest to eat at Quincy Market
Check out Harvard and MIT/Cambridge area
If you love Italian food just go to North End and find something that peaks your food craving. Boston Common is pretty neat too.
Enjoy!
