No, there are a very small number of Valyrian arakhs, the curved swords used by the Dothraki. One of the minor characters of a sellsword army you won't likely see has one.
But didn't Tyrion say in the books that at one time there were hundreds of Valyrian blades in Westeros (and thousands in the world) or something like that? I wonder where all those went.
ETA: Never mind. His quote was in the link I posted. Here it is:
quote:
“ Valyrian steel blades were scarce and costly, yet thousands remained in the world, perhaps two hundred in the Seven Kingdoms alone.[4] ”
– thoughts of Tyrion Lannister

If Valyrian steel can kill White Walkers, what do you think Dawn would do to them?
Posted on 6/2/15 at 10:56 am to Bamatab
I just remember the books mentioning that the Valyrian arakhs were far more rare than the swords. The only one we're told of is the one owned by Caggo.
The really mysterious sword is Dawn, which is not Valyrian but has many of its properties.

Yeah there isn't much written about Dawn. Has it even been mentioned on the show yet? I use to think it was the original Lightbringer, but I have cooled on the theory recently.
To answer TigerintheNO's question, who knows at this point. I think that the main reasons that Valyrian steel works against them is that they were forged with magic & dragons breath. We don't know yet how Dawn was forged, just the rumor that it was forged from the heart of a fallen star. If magic wasn't involved with it being forged, then there is a chance that it can't hurt them. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that it will probably be able to kill a White Walker.

Has Valyrian steel ever been made into armor?
Melt down all known steel and forge it into armor for some super soldier with Dragonglass weapons against the WWs.
Eta: nevermind about the glass. I thought I saw it broken.

If I recall correctly there was mention of a link to reading material about Roberts Rebellion and background events prior to where the show picked up in season one, *that wasn't full of spoilers*. I believe it was in this thread but hate to wade through the whole thread again or risk looking via Google and getting hip deep in spoilers by clicking on the wrong link, so if someone has the link handy it would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe when Joeffery was reading about the history of the Kingsguard and Ser Dayne.

You can go to youtube and type in Game of Thrones history and lore. It is what HBO put out as part of each season's DVD set (and voiced by the actors on the show), so it doesn't spoil future events.
Here are links to the last 5 season:
season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
Also, here is a link to the ASOIAF wiki page for Robert's Rebellion (just because careful not to click on any links on the page): Robert's Rebellion

What is this new world order for the hodor thread that cokes is speaking of? Someone must've stole his password or something.

Nah, not at all. Just think it's silly that readers can't ever refrain from staying in their own threads.
BTW, the shite talking about me in this and the reader threads is fantastic.

Just messing with you. I just remember some of the Walking Dead threads that went 10 pages of spoiler vs anti-spoiler posts.
Now get to cleaning up those hodor threads.
