Here are my top three. Got any others?
"I want the physical risk, weather exposure and miniscule cargo capacity of a motorcycle, but without the maneuverability and class."
"I want to pay the cost of 30 luxury vacations for an eyesore that I park in my front yard 51 weeks a year."
"I want people to feel sorry for me."

I'm personally not a fan of the Can-Am Spider but if someone wants to ride one I've got no problem with it. I think it's a good alternative for riders who've got too old to feel comfortable holding up a regular motorcycle. I look at it no differently than a Harley trike.

Ok I'll play....
I want to drive a vehicle that gets 50 MPG but I will perish in in a moderate speed accident.

Dad has one. It's awesome for LSU games. He's definitely gotten his money out of it.
He doesn't park it in his front yard though

i agree on 2 out of 3, but the R/V can be done properly. I do agree with your assessment of what a LOT of people do with them though.
I have a nice 4X4 truck camper that can go anywhere. I've taken it deep into forests and used as home base for adventures (same with skiing, paddling, climbing, fishing, hunting, etc).
I even think the big motorcoaches can have their place. See, e.g., Justified.

quote:that one is a bit extreme...but as far as rv's and travel trailers go,not everybody is crazy about staying in nasty hotel/motel rooms.they are great for taking trips and spending time with family.

Also why pay even more for the Cadillac version

I came here to defend the Soul a bit, but then I actually thought about what cars people must cross-shop the thing with and then I realized I don't really know why it exists either.

Uh everyone I've ever known with an rv has either a separate garage for it or parks it at an rv/marina when not in use.

The soul is a shitbox, but it is a very roomy shitbox.
I don't underztand anyone who buys a truck or suv and it isn't a 4wd.
If it has a transfer case, the mileage is similar. The first time you need it, for ice, mud, snow, or even pulling something in wet grass, it is worth it.
As for the canam...meh. Check out the polaris that was demoed recently.
