The law provides a two way street, protects religious beliefs, which is our first right, and protects the gays. There are plenty places of business that will be happy to take gay money. This shite is overblown and the media is to blame, its just like the police racist crap, hands up don't shoot, if its repeated enough its true.
There is an almost an exact same law in federal courts, and in 30 other states. Not to get political but its truly what they are trying to make this about,Bill Clinton sigsigned this into federal law twenty years or so ago, and Obama voted for it as a state senator in Illinois. It just gives you a day in court, which is what we all would want and deserves.rantoff/

Pat Haden is a moron who hasn't read the law.

. It's a private business on private property and as such they can do with it what they damn well please. frick your personal opinions and feelings on the situation.

But no one has read the law. I know I haven't. No one has time for that.
There are few things I don't really understand and the very first one is why is there such an aversion to gay people from posters on this board? It's just none of our goddamn business what people do in their bedrooms. I don't care either way...I don't need it shoved in my face via pride parades and I don't need it swept under the rug because of shame. Just be...I don't care what you are.
Second, I haven't read the law. Judging from people who have read the law in this thread this isn't just an Indiana thing...it seems like there is a Federal law just like it and similar laws in 30 other states.
Thirdly, Pat Haden can get bent. His job is USC's athletics, right? Not Indiana politics.
Fourth, this is all the media's fault.

Other than some overt, obvious jokes, I haven't seen that to be the case.
What I have seen is that people are sick and tired of the constant demand for special treatment b/c their lifestyle choices are "different".
Be gay all you want, but why do I have to kowtow (there's an oldie but a goodie) to you and your choices?

No shoes no shirt no service as cliched as it is speaks more to the rights of private business to do business with whom they wish. It applies across the board and freedom of association which is inherent in our country's DNA. It's not a public domain issue but allows privately held corporate entities to do business exactly as private individuals are able and a response to cases like the one in Colorado where a baker is fined for refusing to make a cake for a gay wedding.
Haden is well within his rights not to go if his employer allows such, so I agree with him as well. If Indiana passed a gay friendly law and Haden didn't attend on the grounds of religion. He would be drawn and quartered as a homophobe, but the State lauded given our current environment and calls would be for him to be forced to attend. The backlash is a good thing and certainly within a citizens rights as a private individual, the comments by an executive such as Apple computer CEO to me is more troublesome, the company is pubicly held and he's charged with the oversight of it as a whole. Not using his office as a forum for social commentary of his opinion.
I think Sarah Palin wrote this. It's got that "trying too hard to sound like I know what I'm talking about" vibe.

Funny that you put one of these when nothing you said was funny.
The comment I quoted had nothing to do with the OP or the law. You should go back and read and strive to comprehend.

Same goes for the racist crybabies. The struggle is created, propogated, and continually shoved in our faces.
STFU - live and let live.
And if Pat Haden is more worried about gay rights than doing his cush job, he shouldn't be on the committee.

I'm beginning to think the law was written so people can grandstand against it. I haven't read it and don't know anything about it other than people coming out of the woodwork to publicly denounce it....without showing where the law is unjust.

This is how probably 99% of the people feel.
We are all too self-absorbed to worry about purposefully holding someone down.
Sure, you'll always have the 1% outliers that want to screw you over b/c you have long hair, or you're a different color, or you drive a sweet Vette, but you can't legislate intelligence.
The shrill, whiny, voices of those too lazy to make it in the world on their own merits can get lost after awhile.
Some numbnuts doesn't want to sell you cupcakes? Go to the other 100 bakeries that will.

i agree. baby boomers just get offended and act pretty selfishly. this generation coming up now gets offended for other people and will cut off their nose to spite their face.

If his job and family collide to where he is unable to handle his responsibility to one, he should leave the one that is least important to him.
We also do not know if he spoke to his employer and an assistant AD is being sent in his place. This would assure his job was covered.
He is still a douche for demanding that a ref stop a game to explain to him a perceived discrepancy in the number of calls against his team.
And last, isn't this a playoff meeting? What does that have to do with USCw?
