Wow, there's some frickin retards in here. The dude was asking how Simmons compared to Lebron. Anybody with half a brain could figure out he meant at the same age. From what limited highlights I've seen, he's got a better shot & range than lebron did. But he's not the specimen lebron was...who is?

I think I've heard the Danny Manning comparison, which I think is more analogous. He is for real, that's for sure.

He also reminds me a bit of John Williams in his versatility, but different body type.

Question should add is he as good as Lebron at this stage in their BB careers. That answer is YES... In fact Lebron was better than Jorden and Magic coming out of High School therefore as a high school player Simmons is as good and probably better than the 3 greats named above.

Therefore time will tell how good he is at the college and pro level.. Personally I think he will be great at both levels and be a 23 PPG pro in his 2-3rd year playing the wing as a penetrating player with a long range shot. He sill also play some off guard as he can handle the rock like a PG.

Ben Simmons may very well push for a starting spot on the LSU all-time team, and that is something impressive.

I agree that he isn't as good as lebron.

It's closer than some people think given you are answering the question is Ben Simmons better than Lebron was at age 18...

The OP should have added that he meant Lebron at 18 rather than not stating it.

I stated in a thread a few weeks ago that Simmons reminds me of Lamar Odom.

Some people took that has an insult to Simmons and I am not sure why. Odom took Rhode Island to Elite 8 and had 10+ year NBA career. I would take Simmons leading us to an Elite 8 like Odom did in the 90's.

No.

Lebron out of high school went straight to the NBA and put up 20/5/5. That's unheard of.

I have seen Simmons on TV a few times this year. I also saw
Lebron on TV when he was in HS, plus watched his documentary. Simmons has similar skills, but he doesn't have the strength and power that Lebron had in HS. At 17, Lebron looked like a 25 year old because of his build.

Lebron came straight out of high school, and was playing at an all star level by week 3 of season 1. I'd say the chances are slim that Simmons is that good.
