Seen Moreland play at Spring Street Firehouse in Birmingham. One of the venues owners is actually the guitarist for Lee Bains. Great show.

I was at that show. Would love to see him there again after the new album comes out.

Give the new Strand of Oaks a try. A little different, but it's really good.
I'd also recommend The National if you are not opposed to the lack of twang.

Listen to his band, Lucero.
Anything off their Self-Titled albumen or "Women and Work" would be a good intro.

He's in his late 20's (I think). Can't be much older then me, first time I saw him I recognized him from Hoover. He was one of the guys that bought it and helped fix it up. I'm pretty sure at one point Eric lived upstairs and was giving guitars lessons out of it. Of course it wasn't long ago that property in Avondale was dirt cheap.
Most of this was told to me by my buddy who's uncle owns Munchies. He used to run it so he mostly knew Eric from being in Avondale all day long.
