Or know of someone who has? I'm contemplating it but I've got questions. For starters, who is the most affordable and does it really only last 10 years or so?

I had it done in '05 and been fine since. My eyes had also stayed the same for four years. I don't think it would be wise if every year you go to the eye doc your eyes are still getting progressively worse.

Dr. Williamson did mine. He wasn't the cheapest, but I wasn't looking for cheap when it came to my vision

No, the correction of myopia is permanent. You will, however, still be subject to a declining ability to see things up close. That's just part of getting old. Buy a $5 pair of reading glasses.

For the record, I had my lasik done 15 years ago, and still have perfect vision.

Did it 4 years ago. Eye sight is still great. Worth it! It's your eyes, not something I'm looking for a large discount on.

People on OT have more questions about the value of Lasik than any other group of people in the world.

Had it done last summer. Definitely do it, It's awawesome. You have to man up for about a minute that sucks and will make you question why anyone would ever do this to themselves but it's over really quick. take a nap a wake up and everything is great.

Since I had it done every once in a while my eyes will get tired ready sosomething small like my phone. Its not all the time and only if it's for a really long time, like a few hours a day

Yes. It's one of the safest surgeries known to man. And it's your eyes. Don't bargain shop. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Did it last year. I used dr. Woo. She's one of the best in Baton Rouge. Don't go cheap. I paid $2399 total.

OT Baller status revoked. You do not go cheap when it comes to your vision.

And no. Provided your eyesight was stable when you get the surgery, it should last your entire lifetime. The myth is that LASIK corrects farsightedness. It doesn't do that, and farsighteness usually strikes later in life.

Had it this morning from Dr Woo. Can already say best decision ever. Surgery was easy, all you have to do is relax, not move, and stare into light. She already cleared me to drive and go back to work tomorrow.

My eye sight had stabilized and I am wearing glasses again 10 years later.
