Has anyone else noticed how much Lofton arse kissing is occurring on the Triplett twatter page? It seems like I see 4-5 twats a day from him praising Lofton as being a great player and great dude. Hey, I like and respect Lofton the person just as much as the next person, but he wasn't a very good player. It's kind of creepy and at the same time hilarious seeing this play out like a prologue to Fifty Shades of Gay

Sounds like Lofton shagged your mum for banter.

Yea, I've noticed that as well. He's been pumping Lofton since that PFF article on ESPN about how many players a team is from the playoffs. Made it a point to mention Lofton as a grade he didn't agree with.

Him and I seem to agree on a lot of things. A LOT of things. Eerily so. But this is one thing I don't get. It's a case of looking at tackle numbers and not realizing they are not all equal. A tackle 10 yards down the field is no where close to a tackle for -2. Which one do you think Lofton had more of?

Bonethug ftw! This is exactly it. Lofton was slow and pushed away from the line too easily. He was a decent run support player, not a good or great one. He was a hindrance in pass coverage. Way overrated by Tripp. I do like MT's opinions usually though

Trip does great work but I guess we've all been guilty of loving a Saints player irrationally for whatever reason.

If I were a writer 10-15 years ago, y'all would be starting threads about how I wouldn't shut up about Mel Mitchell being the future at the SS spot and how much Jay Bellamy needed to DIAF.

I will forgive Trip for this because his love affair is easily more defensible than mine.

And you would have heard me viciously defending Jay Bellamy.

Rotoworld's take was amusingly different:

quote:

Lofton is a below-average run defender with next to no pass-coverage skills, so we'll assume the Raiders targeted him for leadership purposes.
