Anyone have experience with having a company weed and feed their lawn? I had back surgery a few months ago and have not been able to do any yard work.

I have Tru Green and really like them. They turned my backyard around. It was ate up with weeds and now it is beautiful grass. They try to sell things like aeration and other upsale stuff, but I never buy it. I think it is about ~$500 for the year. I would always forget to put weed/feed, winterizer, etc. Definitely worth it to me.

I have not used them, but I have to admit that the folks in my neighborhood that do usually have some damn nice yards...I have thought of giving them a try as well from time to time...

I used true green for a few years and just canceled my contract b/c I no longer trust them.

I did see improvements in my yard from when they started but I didn't feel like I was getting custom care that was promised when I originally signed up.

I had a terrible experience with Tru Green when they set me up on revolving lawn treatments even though I only requested one year of service. Long story short, I had a rental house, wanted the lawn to look nice for the tenants for the year, TruGreen continued to bill me for another year and then I get a collections bill of $99. No phone calls, letters, nothing. After several heated conversations with management they agreed they were wrong and had the credit bureau remove it. I'd go with a local company since the chemicals are the same, but better local service.

I just started paying for the service in Houston. The owner before me did and the yard looked great. Its 4 applications per year at $37 an application. That doesn't include insect protection though. Even the top of the line package was significantly less than $500.

I use Scott's. Never used anything back in LA when I had st Augustine grass. Now dealing with fescue, which is a pain in the arse. Have to aerate/overseed every fall, and it doesn't overtake weeds/spread like st aug. Not thrilled with Scott's, to be honest.

I used them but wasn't satisfied with the results. I also didn't like the millions of calls to try and get me to buy additional treatments or products. Cancelling the service was another process. I must have gotten 10 phone calls wanting me to come back. I finally had to get shitty with them and the calls stopped. I moved to Virginia and damn it if I didn't get a letter in the mail from these frickers. They're the ones who probably found bin laden.
