Once you get a legal separation, you can commit all the adultery you want. It also stops community property on such things as your soon-to-be ex running up debt. You need a lawyer.

it doesn't matter, you aren't getting any money anyway, and she was going to take yours for sure.
Just sit back, enjoy the bullshite, and have sex with who you want.
Not a lawyer. But if we were pals, I would tell you that.........

I agree with you , but tbh, imo, any judge who believes a woman who only filed once she saw he filed a month earlier and used a friendship that was in the "open" after he left her, as her reason for wanting a divorce, is a sucker...js

No anyone that's says different is dead wrong. The only way to prove adultery in Louisiana is to have pictures of actual intercourse. Hear say doesn't mean shite........unless you are kin to the judge hahahahaha

He said she actually got a pi to see where he was going like he was still with her or something....lol..he didnt care, he is seeing the new woman out in the open....I always thought an affair as people call it was something you hide....lol...doesn't sound like an affair to me...

Even if she proves adultery, who cares. The only thing it would do in this scenario is speed up the divorce. Judgment is granted immediately at trial without the need to wait 365 days.
Exactly, which is why in my divorce I did not file on the grounds of adultery, which could have easily been proven. It doesn't really mean anything - I know he did it; he & his side piece and everyone else in the free world know they did it - and it was not beneficial to me at all, monetarily, to speed up the divorce. ... I did, however, maintain my right to go back for permanent alimony.

Not sure about the legal aspect but they are definitely trash and thats probably why they got divorced in the first place.

Doesn't matter hiring a PI in Louisiana is about as big of scam as realtors. Nothing stands in court except pics of intercourse or written proof. As in a confession. Recording phone calls means nothing neither do text messages. Yes the person will have no doubts personally but as far as court goes only one thing is "supposed" to count as cheating.

All of this is pretty much true, which is why it helps tremendously if said adulterer's family & friends know, including family member who made the "arrangements," so they can be subpoenaed to testify. One of them will spill it or inform said offender that they won't lie for him to a judge, thereby, forcing him to cop to it. Regardless, in my case, not speeding up the divorce by refraining from filing adultery charges was much more beneficial to me.

My recommendation is to make sure the soon to be ex has a boyfriend, too. Just to make sure.

If a P.I. Has pics that the person in question went into someone of the opposite sex's house and stayed the night…. The law assumes sex happened

Correct, I discussed it with my attorney & a PI agency, which was extremely expensive for a reputable one. They were going to be "staking out" the gf's house all night to get timed video of the ex being there all night, going into the house & leaving. ...
The problem is finding a reputable one to trust which will actually do what you're paying them for. I think that's what the poster was intending by his comment about many PI agencies being scams. ...
Again, proving adultery, thereby speeding up a divorce, does not help the person receiving temporary alimony unless they're going for permanent, which is a crap shoot as to if you're even going to receive as much as you're getting temporarily. ...
From what I understand, through my attorney, the best option is to agree to an amount for temp spousal support (which is usually more than a judge awards), and wait the year long period, plus 6 months after divorce is final, in which temp spousal support is given, and retain the right to file for permanent support, if warranted. ... Permanent support isn't guaranteed, is risky, monetarily, in most cases, is extremely expensive, and divorce court is not pleasant, even for the person not at fault, & especially for any children. Negotiating a larger amount of support in the beginning for the required 1 1/2 yrs., & maintaining the right to go after permanent later, if necessary, worked out, financially, much better.
