Do you think the show wouldn't make money if they went to places that are widely successful in the local community
That is a good question. I'm coming around to thinking a bit differently.
It appears that they chose places that are long time community staples.

I'd be genuinely curious about what the people who aren't partying on Bourbon like to do/eat.
That's a good point too.
Although I guess at least Commander's is a place the locals like and go to.

Bourdain's Layover episode did it right. He pretty much completely avoided the FQ. That was a great episode.
But I understand what Zimmern was trying to do here. Send the masses, not necessarily foodies to the "staples" if they are only here a few days. Cafe du Monde will make an Iowa farm wife happy when she comes to visit.

Take the Iowa farm wife to Metry and skip the hour wait.

Didn't he go frogging with Link? No mention of Link's place on the show. It did make me want to get a po-boy
That was on Mind of a Chef. Sean Brock with Link.

This guy did too, I think. They were with Link's coonass family for a day or two. That show was years ago.

Isn't the Johnnys special almost the same thing as a ferdie ? Just 86 the cheese.
Posted on 3/3/15 at 2:55 pm to TigerWise
Yeah, it's close, but Mother's also uses cabbage instead of lettuce.
