Went with parents to the mall and remember being in Sears TV section watching last two innings
When he hit the ball I screamed oh my god and some old Sears employee ran over to me like someone had died asking what was wrong
I just kept saying Oh My God

So ... Did you really think after 3 hours and 40 posts, no one knew the answer ?

Hilarious that anyone could criticize that call.
Well done.

I was in an elevator at the Hampton Inn on Constitution when he hit the HR. I was going to pick up my girlfriend who was in town from Dallas.
I watched till the 8th, hustled to the Hampton and caught the top of the 9th in the lobby with a crowd of folks.
After Lanier struck out, I was too anxious and went to her room.
When I got to her room, she was watching a rerun of Benson (no shite). I asked her to flip over to the game. Dog pile, LSU champ. Cora boo hooing.
I missed the biggest play in LSU baseball history but we did pop down the road for a quick dinner at the Applebee's, which was delightful.

yep....definitely tells you what we are working with here on this board.
When the ball was hit, there was never any question if it was going to be an out or not....we were at least going to be tied.....

Lanier had just struck out on a 3 - 2 curve ball. They called for the curve again on the first pitch to Morris and it actually was a pretty decent pitch. Warren just made a great play and hit the ball to about the only place in the park where it could have left. The wind was blowing in pretty good for most of the game. I recall a few innings earlier that one of the Miami players (Burrell?) came up with the bases loaded and hit a bomb to center that would have been a grand slam any other day. He was even showboating a little as he was getting to first but the wind knocked it down and turned it into a hard hit sac fly.

Lanier had just struck out on a 3 - 2 curve ball.
And it wasn't 19 years ago. It happened yesterday.

I think it was the suddenness that shocked us all. I doubt avyone conceived he would hit a home run; I just wanted a hit. Then, swing, line drive..championship. We never had time to even anticipate

An incredible way of putting it. Did you coin this?

Thanks for the link. Watched the video of the 2009 CWS. Seeing Chad Jones gave me goose bumps.

Watched at a buddy of mines house. Our wives went shopping and left us to watch the kids who were toddlers at the time. I'll never forget the look of shock on his face after the hit. I probably had the same expression during that pregnant pause before we starting jumping around and high giving.
The toddlers were just WTF happened to our dads?

I came out of my chair and unintentionally planted two clinched fist in my ceiling. The damage was minor.
