ah it's just another alpha OT badass spouting off

It's dismissive to classify this as bullying. It's aggravated assault, at the least.
excellent point.

I don't think that is the case. Maybe he worded it wrong but I think a large percentage of fathers would take some action beyond sitting around hoping that our often times screwed up justice system actually provides justice equal to the deed. I would be one of the fathers that went beyond. How far beyond would be based on many variables. That does not make me an internet badass but just cognizant of my protective nature.

Asperger's kids can be total fricking pricks. I'm not saying this kid's beating was justified because I don't know the specifics, but these kids aren't all innocent. I've seen a few of them in action.

shite like this sends my blood pressure through the roof

This hits close to home. shite would get wrecked.
2 things would happen: bullys dad gets a visit and bully has the shite scared out of him.
The school would get served as well.

Can't say exactly what the right move is here as a parent, but Marty putting on the black gloves in the interrogation room in True Detective comes to mind.

Really?
First, a beating, to this extent, would have very little justification in any sense. Unless the child with Aspergers was attacking you or someone else viciously.
Second, yeah, kids with Aspergers can be real assholes, but they have fricking Aspergers, it's not like they are acting this way on purpose.

wasn't this taken off the list as a condition or handicap or whatever it is not too long ago? being serious

Yeah, I think it's just diagnosed on the autism spectrum.
Posted on 2/25/15 at 4:59 pm to 777Tiger
It wasn't really taken off. The names of the classifications have changed with the DSM V, but it doesn't change high functioning autism. Just a different name.

Ok?
Was he beat up because of it?
Probably since those with Asperger's are notoriously unable to handle social situations. I would guess he said some shite to these kids for the umpteenth time and they went off on him. No excuse and this is fricking terrible, but I know some Asperger's folks and the shite that comes out of their mouths sometimes makes me want to punch them.

Maybe he was mouthing off to them.
Posted on 2/25/15 at 5:08 pm to yankeeundercover
So what if he did mouth off to them? Leaking spinal fluid is pretty severe for an exchange of words. Jesus.

Maybe they were pretty severe words

What does Aspergers have to do with the story?
It makes him different, and children who are different are targets.
Because he was different makes it a hate crime......

Couldn't find the 5x number, but they're still much more likely to be bullied. Kids with Asperger's are even more likely than those further down the autism spectrum.
It's the nature of the syndrome. Kids with A.S. don't present autism as clearly. Instead, they appear as stand-offish, mean, rude, weird, and a whole host of other "bad" social qualities. Asperger's sucks, because it may take a long time before even the parents realize what's wrong with the kid. In fact, I would venture to guess that this "bully" (read: psychopath) had and has no idea what the hell Asperger's is. Blake was just a weird kid and the "bully" was having a bad day.
Absolute tragedy, frankly.

This guy has Asperger's and made $700 million.
Read The Big Short.

That school is fricked. The mom reported the douchebag bully and they did nothing.
