Met a personal financial milestone today!

Reached 100k in my 401k 
. What's considered a good age to get there? I'm not quite 30, so I feel I'm doing okay.

You'll be at 200k before you know it. Seems liken that 1st 100 takes forever, then the compounding starts going crazy. Grats.

Bad arse, man. We hit $100k after last year's contributions- I was 31, wife was 35. Pretty good feeling.

Awesome. Congrats man. It's all about starting early and sticking with contributions. A nice match helps too.
As for age, it's more about where you finish and what your pace is for retirement age. There's been several rules of thumb posted for various milestones.

excellent, man!...
believe me, retirement is not nearly as far away as you think it is...one day you will realize that it is just around the corner and you will be damn glad you prepared...
I am no financial expert, but dumping as much as you can into a 401K saves you a ton due to deferring the taxes on all of that money. couple that with any match provided by your employer and I can't think of a way to get ahead faster than that...
