Sorry if this belongs on the outdoor board, soccer board or if its already been posted.
Looking to replace all the windows in my house and obviously there are a million options. Thoughts on the type of window and manufacturer?
Looking in the $200-$300 range per window (not including install) and want a U-factor around .25-.30
Single Hung standard size.
Thoughts?

Stick with current size openings for the least amount of cost. Otherwise, you'll habe interior wall finish, exterior wall finish, possible framing expenses, paint, etc. They can match what's there without changing sizes.

No such thing. I wish there was. Would make my job a lot easier.

I just had 20 windows in my house replaced. Double hung, double pane, low E glass. They are roughly 30X54. They were about $250 a peice. These are replacement windows. We love them. Granted the ones that we took out were the original windows from a house built in 1952.

Stay away from Amazing Windows, think about Window World, I've been happy.

I've just been set up with newtownwindows.Com
I'd do their 177 series "protech" with ultraflect Loe.
Rated at an R5 for a double pane glass.
And you can always spring for triple pane.
Ridiculously good priced replacement windows For the quality of product and lack of hassle.

we went with window world and had them change out about 8 windows last summer - they were the only company that returned our calls and were willing to dive us a bid. I called LAS atleast 3 times to ask for a bid - the last time was when one of their managers assured me that someone would return my call - and well you guessed it - nothing happened.

Depending on the municipality of where you live, there are energy codes thatwindows need to meet. EBR has to be "low E" for new construction homes.
As a home builder, these window replacment companies methods of removal make me NERVOUS. All the origional flashing around the window rough opening along with assockated framing (wooden structure) is comprimised during every removal I have seen. If you gotta do something toimprove the current situation I would STRONGLY sugest storm windows by a known window distributor.

You can buy replacement windows at Home Depot. The American Craftsman vinyl line is made to replace windows and affordable. Single hung, LowE Double pane glass. They probably have what you need in stock. I only had to special order 1 size.
