I have a friend recovering from throat cancer after years of a can per week habit. He barely made it and he's not out of the wood yet.

What about people that smoke a pack a week? I don't see how 20 cigarettes in 7 days can be that bad for you. Like people who smoke only when they drink.

There is no safe level of tobacco usage, and there are many other associated risks in addition to cancer.

LINK

"A large, new meta-analysis published in The BMJ found that smoking just one cigarette a day could drastically increase the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke."

"They found that men who have about one cigarette per day had a 48 percent higher risk of heart disease and 25 percent higher risk of stroke compared to people who have never smoked. For women, the news is even grimmer, with a 57 percent and 31 percent higher risk for heart disease and stroke, respectively, compared to never smokers."

Best advice is quit cold turkey and buy sunflower seeds. I was at 3 or 4 cans a week and I’m now 1 month dip free. The cravings sucked those first couple days but after that it hasn’t been all that bad

Gum is your friend, I've been chewing 3/4 pieces of gum a day since I quit.

It’s not bad

Still have all my teeth. Gums have receded in certain areas. Teeth aren’t as white as they use to be. Only 1 cavity the last 20 years

Have a dip in as I type this. Good luck to anyone trying to quit because you won’t be able to.

My great aunt is 92 and chain smokes luckys like they’re going out of style, she has a tobacco store order them for her. I’d say that she smokes at least two packs a day and has for the last 75 years or so and she’s never had cancer or major health issues.

I’d say that she’s probably one in a million though. Realistically if you use any form of tobacco regularly, it’s almost certainly going to bite you in the arse one day.

Copenhagen original longcut is my dip of choice now. I wish I could find an offbrand that tastes just like it because it's so damn expensive compared to other dips. Or I guess I should just quit.

study out recently I read where they found smokeless tobacco users had no higher incidents of oral cancer than non tobacco users.

This. You have a better chance getting cancer from eating vagina. Hpv is much more likely to cause cancer

Because as a rule your lungs need oxygen, not smoke.

My dad has been chewing tobacco for over 30 years and drinks like 5 Dr. Peppers a day yet has no major health issues. Not saying any of that is recommended, but some people are just lucky

Everything causes cancer Baw:

Oral sex is a commonly performed act of foreplay involving the kissing or licking of the genital area to pleasure a partner. However, it is sometimes stated that the act alone can increase the risk of throat cancer
