Agreed.

Warehouse District is for douches*. Uptown, Mid-City, and the GD are FAF.

* - actually not that bad

With no kids you should start to pioneer gentrification of St. Claude and Alabo st. You can catch a bus to the CBD.

I'm not talking about living ON Bourbon St you morons.

I did it for a few months and I'm glad I did. Now, I wouldn't want to live there permanetly or with kids, but with just me and my wife, or just me short term, it's not that bad.

i agree, the backend of the FQ as you get closer to Esplanade is very nice, and not as loud as you would think. though its a plus if you can bike or walk to work. Parking isnt easy

We lived down Royal Street towards Esplanade across the street from CC's. Parking was the worse part about it. That's why id probably never do it again. However, I'm glad we did it. It was fun for those few months.

Definitely do not live in the WHD. That has to be the most hellish part of new orleans proper. (exhibit A: it's getting a Dave & Busters). It has all the tree-lessness of the bywater but without any of the dive bars.

Go with Bayou St. John, City Park, Freret Ave area, or Marigny triangle.

I'm a firm believer that everyone should experience living in the Quarter for at least 1 year. Especially while still being young and single. After that, look Warehouse District or Uptown.

I agree on Quarter, do not agree with Uptown. If you live in the Quarter, make sure you live several blocks away from Bourbon or the shite streets.

will they put you up in a hotel for a month, while you decide where you like?

If I was single, I'd be within 3 blocks of magazine btw the park and Louisiana.

If you want
- convenience & nightlife: Warehouse District
- more space, close proximity to parks and festivals, college girls: Uptown
- If you want to be a hipster - Bywater
- If you want to reenact the 90's sitcom "The Big Easy", bitch about noise, tourists, piss, and vomit on your doorstep: French Quarter
- If you want to live like a 40 year-old suburban housewife with all of the high cost, bad roads, and taxes of living in a "cooler" neighborhood plus all the traffic of Metairie: Lakeview
- If you want the convenience of the Warehouse District, the space of Uptown, lower prices, but the sketch of Bywater (without the hipster cred): Mid-City

Hola compadre. Life time Texan here, and just moved to New Orleans this summer.. You'll love everything except for the lack of breakfast tacos. Other than that this place is an amazing place to live.

I suggested the WD.

My point is that living in the Quarter is an experience that not may people have the chance to experience, and if you can you should just try if for a year, or even just 6 months......then check it off your bucket list and move.

Only answer.

FQ at first and use the time there to find something you like better.
