You should have gotten a better education in a more productive and stable field.

I was able to trim/layoff some fat while hiring some hands with quality experience

I gotta be honest with you, as someone who doesn't make a whole lot of money it kinda feels good to hear that overpaid oilfield workers are getting a dose of reality.

I'm getting a raise in a month.

My dad started giving me more money last week

My wife just had to take a major cut to her base rate, but it applied to whole team , not just her. Apparently her company believes in lowering pay to get the bad people to quit instead of just firing the underperformers, which seems backwards to me. We had decided she was going back to school regardless before this happened, so this just made the decision that much easier.

I took a 20% raise at 1-1-15 and got a 20% salary bonus at 12-15-14. We have more work than we know what to do with.

Almost all of our customers have either called or written me a letter (that's going to all their vendors) asking me to look at lowering their rates during this time.

I still got my bonus on my last paycheck. Haven't heard too much about layoffs with my company yet. I heard the drug tests for the field and shop personnel have noticeably increased though .

I never have to worry about getting a pay cut at my job. I either got a job or I dont. No in between. Sometimes reduced hours are offered when times are slow but that doesn't last long usually.

I got a 12% raise if it is any consolation

Free enterprise is amazing and the cornerstone of America...until it affects the oil industry.

I just got a raise to 200k base plus my commission plan increased and I do not have a degree. Also paid off all our debt this year. Also happy to report that I am always being recruited for new opportunities.
And I am dumb as a bag of rocks and my spelling/grammar is bad.
I guess your life sucks.

Thought I was getting called in to be laid off...was given the choice to take severance, or transfer out to the field (I had been in design for a few years, and trying to get out into the field since).
Got a pretty good bump in my pay as well, but I'm just excited to be running tools instead of designing them on paper.
To all you talking shite about "overpaid O&G trash"
To anyone laid off hoping this turns around and you all find something very soon

Self-employed so no pay cut here and the longer oil prices stay down the busier I will eventually be.
